cheers Paul turns out that the battery is well dodgey shows 12v charged and then gives out about half that when needed, reason I didnt think it could be batt was its fairly new about 6 months old know anyone who wants to buy a second hand starter or solenoid lol cheers les

Hi was wondering if any one has a solution to this brake light not working.neutral light not working,indicators and horn same just wondering if these had a common negative wire that I should look for everything else works fine cheers Les

your F.R.E.D could possibly be an electronic spark enhancer, mine has one either side of tank connected to points and coils, fitted by previous owner but work so not taking them off. they have fins on.

My xs 400 was doing that, among other things, changed the plugs runs okay now (thanks to a bit of help from yoda,)

does anyone know what type of pattern exhaust or one from any other bike that would fit a cagiva roadster my lads latest project, waited three month for chain tensioner that never arrived from dealer or infact from italy,(made it myself in end) so don,t want to go down that route again. cheers Les

cheers yoda took carbs off (again) cleaned them put back on tight seems to have cured rev prob, lost me bolt again so hand held revs only, but seems okay cheers. les

having been sat a while I got the old bike out of the shed fresh fuel, batt and plugs. after a few days I discovered that the remote throttle stop screw was usless so I improvised with a small bolt, which holds it in the right place, however when I start it up it backfires then settles its self to a steady 1000rpm,s then for some reason revs its self to 3500rpm,s and sits there, the throttle linkage does not move so I'm at a loss as to why it does this. anyone got any ideas? les
