Elvira the magnificent. Really nice job. Please, next time, dont use another vehicle as a backdrop.

You can make your own from the old one. Just ensure that you make it long enough. Cut through the ould loom leaving enough wire to join the new one to. Make sure you use heavy cable where its needed. Tell us you have been successful!!!

Make sure you have the charger set to bike not car as you will damage the battery. It would be a good idea to buy a battery conditioner to ensure the long life of the battery. This is pluged in all of the time your not using him for rides.

This could be dirt in the fuel system or a problem with the tacho sender to the fueling computer. Check the throttle position with the throttle bodies.

It takes an aweful lot of power to blow a 30 amp fuse. I'm afraid your electrics are dead. Disconnect the battery and stripout the wiring loom. You will need to repair/replace it with a new one.

Well, normally it would not but you went to the led extreme. The replacement unit you have should have the pins at the base to plug into the relay base. To find the relay, switch the turn lights on and listern for the relay to click on and off. It should be behind the airbox under the seat.
  7. Dont think so but it might be possible to graft new ones onto a stub. Check and see if you have 12 volts to the coils first. If you have then its a replacement unit.
  8. I suspect that the old plug leads have aged and cracked thus no electricity. Change the leads first.

Simple, slieve the outside of the mufflers with tin can or aluminum and pop-rivit them where there is some metal left.

They are what is known in the trade as f**ked. Buy some second hand ones.

If you have nothing then I suspect you have shorted out the battery. Take the bat out and dry it, then charge it up.

Yes do be careful about this. kawasakis did tend to have problems with carb icing which led to the death of someone and accidents to others. If you have air filters in, it should not happen, but it is part of the function of the carb venturi that causes the problem. If you have water in your fuel it is more likely to happen.

I'm not sure what the firing order is, but what components are common to these two cylinders? If there is nothing common then it must be the spark plugs or leads.
  15. Contact Oxford and tell them your problem as it cannot be unique. See if they make one to your spec.

You have an earthing problem or a dirty on-switch. Clean all of the earths and headlamp mountings first. Welcome to the forum.

Shouldn't you be supporting the bike at the axle points not half way up the swing arm?

You need to make a claim against the council whose pot hole it belongs to. Take some photos and get an exact description of the whereabouts of the very dangerous hole and send them a recorded letter with your claim for the damages incurred. Go to the Citizens Advice Bureux, they will help. You should be able to get all your money back.

Certainly there would be more penetration with that but it needs to be backed up by solid greese. If a swing arm has been left ungreased for a while there will be wear and dried on shit. Use only a small amount of oil to exued the old grease and have the swing arm under no load.

It has always been 'buyer beware' but so many people fail to remember this.

It could be a faulty kill switch then?
  22. yoda replied to Gothy's post in a topic in Naked
You should look out for the normal things such as smoke in the exhaust when reved, sprocket wear and chain wear, poor lights when switched on and steering head bearing wear. If the start motor turns over slowly its worn out and tyres and wheel alienment.
  23. yoda replied to jet22's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
I think that apart from checking the earth connections as above, your starter motor has started to fail. If you have cleaned all of the electrical connections and the bike will not turn over fast then the starter is worn out.

You need to clean all of the electical connections. You also need to clean the engine grounding cable ends. Most of the electrical problems are caused by bad earths. When you take the side casing off, you will see what has broken straight away.

Check the bikes handbook and it will tell you. Always fit a good quality filter as it will remove more muck than a cheap one.
