I think the selectors have worn and are not quite making the change.

You could fit a larger diameter rear wheel and tyre to effectively raise the gearing.

It's a good looking bike to start with. Spend more time riding it.

There must be a short in the wiring somewhere. You can check each indicator seperately for continuity.

To pass the time buy a copy of MCN or go to track days and watch people going around.
  9. Are you sure it is the cable that is sticking?

The white smoke is indicating that oil is being combusted, which means a broken piston ring or worn valve guides.

I think it's old and tired. Clean the whole fuel system and fit a new fuel filter, put new spark plugs in and check the ignition timing is spot on. If all that fails it is an engine strip down.
  14. Probably less than 5 feet as the bike can be lowered.

It will be fine as long as the width has clearence from any chain cover. You should consider changing the sprockets for new ones as well.
  16. Why don't you just drill out the jet to the size you want h1 instead of just whinging and moaning.
  17. If the bearing is going into a housing, heat the housing. If the bearing is going onto a shft, chill the shaft.

Bloody aweful things. Now you'll find out why the British motorcycle industry died out. Take a seat cushion with you.

You have partially blocked jets, so clean the carb and put it back to the origonal settings.
  22. No need for a meter, the tyres will tell you.
  23. Learning all about tyre slip angles can be 'interesting' and lead to meeting lots of people that you would not really want to bond with, the hospital staff. So try not to go more than 55 degrees.

Where in the world are you? How much money do you want to spend? What year do you want? Do you want Fazer style? Do you want a new bike or pre-owned? These and other questions might help you get an answer to 'what are they like to own'.
  25. yoda replied to ..::h1cks1::..'s post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
Yes they will work OK but all you are doing is pouring more fuel in. The problem is trying to meter it. Putting a larger carb on will do the same and be easier to tune.
