Reserve is a technical term. When the light come on, fill it up.

Noob you have no hope. Do it up and in the mean time (as time passes) you will not need to de-restrict it. Why did you make life so difficult for yourself? I advise not to run from the police as they will hound you for the rest of your life.

I have found that most agencies are not at all up to date with new releases of bike let alone imports of varients. Do not deal with middlemen go directly to a company and explain your situation. Give them the original spec. of the bike and nominate an equivilant that was sold in this country. Dealing directly with a broker is the only way.

    A quicker 'hello'!
  5. When I ride up to my local bar on my moped, I get full respect because I'm wearing my Harley bandana. Now has anyone anything constructive to say?

Sounds more like a fueling problem. They are starting on a rich mixture and when the amount of fuel reduces for normal running they are cutting out. Service the carbs and check the fuel filters for blockage.

Don't see why not but don't fall off and need an ambulance!! I think that you need to just get out and ride and not worry about these practice sessions so much. On the other hand, I'm not with you so Hubby will know better. You will feel better if you get on and go somewhere and then ride back again in all the traffic. Take Hubby with you if he's good! You might find that you need to go out with some of the IAM bikers for a while so that they can help you. They meet up the A14 near Stowmarket but you will need to go on their site to find out when. Get up early on Sundays and just ride!
  8. Temperature.

Does it click when you switch power on? Where does the heavy duty wire go to? If it does not have a heavy duty wire it probably isn't a relay.

Sorry but you'll need to go to a museum!!!!! I had to write that. Has your unidentified object got fins on it?
  11. You need to check that you are getting power to both of the coils. It might not be a faulty coil. The exhaust system has a balence pipe which is now open. You should have changed the exhaust (muffler) for the same type and fitting. Failure to do so can leave the engine running roughly. It is not as simple as just blocking off the balence hole. Things are there for a reason. You should check that you have power to both coils before changing anything. With a fully charged battery you should see 12v plus. One old bikes it is a good idea to renew the high tension leads and spark plugs anyway.

I just had to write this. Fit smaller wheels !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry.
  13. Stay off the road with real bikers? Is this an invitation to go mud diving with real men on their Harleys?

If the butterfly spindle holes are sucking air due to wear, then by putting your fingers over any holes will cause the bike to run rich. The carbs should be on flexible mounts (to stop fuel immulsion) and these will leak air after a few years. The only way to find out is to change them.
  15. Zoomsplat, is that the history of your riding? Perhaps you should have been called roadkill!!!!!
  16. yoda replied to Gumby's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
If you think that the carbs are OK and you do not have air leaks though the spindle mount holes try checking the carb mounts for leaks. It could be running abnormally rich to compensate for air leakage. All rubber type components should be renewed due to ageing. I assume you have checked and renewed the ignition system parts and got the timing spot on? Are you running fresh fuel from a cleaned tank? If not, you will need to reclean the carbs.
  17. Unfortunately, a Dutchman was killed at the tractor pull. He was crushed and died very quickly. Sad weekend.
  18. Simple answer is no. The offence is well out of date and isn't really criminal. That is unless he is going for a driving job with school buses.
  19. The air jets in the carbs need cleaning. Do a full carb overhaul. Also service all cables and linkages to ensure proper operation.

It sounds more like piston siezure. It is possible that the fuel /oil ratio is wrong and causing a problem.

Check the wiring for broken insulation thus shorting out. You must not have any loose joints or connections in any wiring. Check the earth lead is well grounded.

Good luggage rack, take it shopping!

Don't bother. Get the bike set up for your weight and riding preference. Stock settings are very average.

Thank you for that. Now go and piss on your boots!!!
