Yes, just tidy the fins up with a small grinder. There is nothing else apart from replacing the head. The loss of fins will not make a big difference to the bikes performance as long as a fairing is not fitted.

Certainly the side fairings will look great, they are about £300.
  3. Simple answer no. Drawing more power will increase the amperage on the cables and the switch. This could cause a burnout. You would need to fit heavier cables and a heavier duty switch. Try to find a different type of bulb with the same rating as is now fitted.

I think it must be fuel starvation then.

Cooling requires forward movement ie airflow though ther radiator. If your sitting still at idle the temperature will go up.

Buy a cruiser and then complain about the high gearing! Fit smaller wheels!!

Does this spluttering happen at any steady thottle speed or just one part of the band? This could be a problem with the advance/retard electrical timing.

If you have a weak spark in open air conditions, it is quite possible that it will not spark under compression. Also if its sparjing without being grounded it must be grounding on the outer of the spark plug lead. For a good spark you need a good earth.

Your turning the engine the wrong way.
  12. yoda replied to trebloc's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
I suppose that the carb for that cylinder has some fuel in it?
  13. yoda replied to trebloc's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
It cannot be firing on that cylinder. If the exhaust is cold then there is a fault. Take the plug out and ground it on the engine, then when turning it over see if there is a spark. Don't hold on to the plug to do this. I suspect that there is no spark and the plug lead is faulty. Spark plugs are also known to fail.

You haven't damaged that new black beauty have you?
  16. yoda replied to Oakla7's post in a topic in The Bar
Fuel starvation could be causing this as well as any air leaks from the carb mountings. Sticking float or wrongly adjusted needle or jets. Air leaks from the throttle butterfly spindle or slide will also cause weak running.

Your picture will not load on my browser IE8 so can't see it!!
  18. yoda replied to jonoliver28's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
It's probably fuel starvation. You need to clean out the whole fuel system.
  19. I have no problems with Ducati mechanicals as such but I would take issue about their electricals. They used to be terrible.

Why bother. It will be right again in six months!
  22. yoda replied to Liam0161's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
The quickest way to increase the acceleration of your bike is to change the rear sproket. This will reduce the top speed but so what.
  23. yoda replied to Andy Jeffries's post in a topic in The Bar
Welcome to the frey Andy! The answer to your question is yes. You can fit the Fazer one or there are others. Anything to help keep it cleaner!

Unless you can see a leak or smoke from the bike, its normal use. I would give the bike a long ride once a week to get everything hot and charge the battery. That might sort out the oil use.

I had full-blown exposure once while riding. My core temperature went right down. It was a bad experience. Dont let it happen to you.
