fz6 2004 ecu and electrics
The R6 motor is different internally with the FZ6. The electronics are also different. I'm not quite sure what you'll end up with. If you intend to put a FZ6 engine into a R6, you will be dissapointed, with the result.

Harry, you can make your own gaskets for the bike. Go to your local auto store, they should have the materials.

Any F1 fans here?
You could start something here. Open it to all riders and bikes. Some of the F1 courses are run already and advertised in MCN. Le Mans 24 hr is a big venue for bikers. Nice idea.

XS360 to electric start
That would be a retrograde step. If the bike starts on a kick, that's great. Lugging around a lump of starter is a no no. Edited to add that the only reason to have a starter motor is the high compression ratios of modern bikes.

DT125R WATER COMING OUT OF EXHAUST
You know that it went out of this port? The head gasket has probably gone but there could be several reasons why. It is also possible that the head is cracked and leaking water. When fitting a head gasket it is imperetive that the head bolts are tightened down correctly. It can also be useful to put some lubricant on the gasket so that it can move when tightening. You should also have checked the head for distortion, it must be flat.

newbie needs help
Pull the other one Ok to be serious, I think you might have a pinhole in a pipe to the rad. Start the engine and rev it until you find a trace of coolant. Make sure its dry to startwith. it might be leaking from the head or is some residual water lurking from somewhere and then blown off in the wind. If you cannot find a leak when the bike is static, you will have to do the same thing in short runs. Before doing anything make sure the bike is fully dry.

660 Tenere problems
It's a good idea to check the earths and make sure their clean and tight. Next any loose connections on the loom will cause problems and then after that has the bulb got loose?. All else failing how about changing the headlight switch.

Yamaha Thundercat headlight
The problem is probably poor contacts on the switch and poor earth. All need cleaning.

first bike
If you can do a deal you should be able to get it at the above price or there abouts. Since you are 22 you will be able to ride it de-restricted, thats what I meant by age and where you were. The FZ6 or Fazer version is a good buy for starting out. I cannot say whether buying new is best, it depends whats available second hand.

SERIOUSLY SLOW XT125 PROBEM
Speedos can and do read 10% fast, so you'll probably hit the sound barrier now!

first bike
Depends on where you are and your age. It's a very good alrounder. A new buy at the moment would be about £4500.

FZ6 running problems
This points to a ignition fault. I think one cylinders not firing when hot giving a lumpy ride. It could be as simple as a spark plug or HT lead. When it starts to happen find out which exhaust pipe is the coolest as that is the one not firing. Just had a thought. Can you see any bubbles in the coolant if you rev the engine? This would indicate a blown head gasket.
