Cool looking bike. Which I've never seen one here in America. I guess they don't sell them here. Also is that an Inline Two Cylinder?
  2. Get a Goldwing. You can just recline back and let autopilot take over. Just kidding. Most cell phones have navigation features. And I've seen people rig up their cells to their tanks so they can talk and ride. Which means you could just flip the screen open and let it do the navigating.

    Okay.

    Loose chain?
  5. What part of the wold do you live in? I know companies often have different sizes for different parts of the world. My bike has both metric and standard on it(Gets confusing sometimes). While I think in Europe all components are metric. 5/8th is usually what spark plugs are in standard. Not sure on my bike because I haven't changed them yet.

Shouldn't be too bad. I rode a friends CBR600 and I'm 6' 220lbs 16stones(?). You won't be as stretched out as on a litre bike but crotch rockets aren't really made to be comfy.

I think he was referring to my comment about other potential bikes. In it I mentioned the Suzuki SV650s which has a 650cc motor. The 650motor is a v-twin and doesn't have the power of an inline 4cyle bike like the R6. The Vtwin is extremely tqy low end but not as powerful as the I4s. But they are better suited for city and mountain riding because of the low end torque. It's not too far behind the 600s so it is still pretty quick.

Micheline Power Pilots are suppose to be the best tires out now. They don't last long but are the best for handling and all around use. I think there are some others Pilots that do last longer.

My buddy had a CBR600 F4i that topped out at 167mph. But doing 160 on a bike is way different than in a car. The real question is WHAT KIND OF RIDING DO YOU PLAN TO DO??? Do you want to do twisties? Do you want to street race? Wheelies? Stunting? Commuter. For your first bike I'd avoid a race bike all together. I'd get something like a Suzuki SV650s(Most fun bike I've ridden including 600s and R1s). They handle better than your crotch rockets and are great for mountain running becuase of the low end TQ with it being a V-twin. We topped my friend's bike out (Buddy weighing 200lbs) at 147mph on a Hot Georgia Day going down the interstate. Or the FZ6 would be an equivilent of the SV650. Though I've heard the Suzukis are a little better. The are also great wheelie bikes too and sound great. Honda 599s are really nice too. It's a naked bike but you sit on it like a crotch rocket. There is also another Yamaha bike that is like the R6 except it is much heavier and I think a little less powerful. Basically Yamaha's answer to the Suzuki Katana. That would make a great beginner bike but still looks like a crotch rocket. As for wether new or used. Go used all the way. Get as cheap as possible too. You can pick up older R6s, CBRs, etc for next to nothing. Plus if you pay cash and have it paid off Liability insurance is really cheap. With a clean record a new R6 is going to be like a vehicle payment. Plus at some point and time you are going to drop your bike. You'll cry a little less whe you do with a used one. But again what kind of riding do you want to do? And do you have any riding experience "ATVs, Dirtbikes, Scooters, etc"?
  10. Technically there is nothing the cop could do to me. I had insurance and a Bill of sale. And the only reason I was out at night was there was a huge thunderstorm that came through the town earlier(I was at a bike meet). And even withou the tag most cops won't bother pulling you over. I know in the county near me (If not the state of Georgia) if you attempt to run (Wether on a Busa, Moped, or Truck) they can't persue you unless you have a warrant for your arrest for a violent crime such as Rape, Robbery, Murder, Assault. Which in Georgia very few people actually pull over who are on bikes. Most just bolt.

An R6 is still pretty fast for a first bike. Honestly get an FZ6 or Suzuki SV650 or a Honda 599. They are quick bikes that look like sport bikes but are much better for starting out on. And get used because you will eventually dump your bike. Plus if you have it paid off insurance is really cheap. My buddy had an R1 and I rode it a couple of times. It's extremely fast. Violent fast. When you hit the gas on it it's like an explosion that doesn't end. Sneeze too hard and you'll wheelie over. And you 600s are really fast too. My buddy has a CBR600F4i and raced my buddy on his R1. The 600 wasn't far behind the R1 up to 100mph. After that the litres start to shine and leave the 600s. So basically it will be as stupid fast as an R1 up to those speeds. Honestly a Hyabusa is much easier to start out on than an R1. Their power is smoother and easier to control than the 1000s. And looking cool does you no good when you are in the back of a semi-truck or lightpole. To demostrate how powerful an R1 is here are some videos I took of my buddy on his R1. Including a drag race between a Busa and R1 that reached close to 200mph/320kph (Busa did reach 200mph) R1 Wheelies More R1 wheelies R1 wheelie at 120mph 193kph Now I know the wheelies look cool and all but this guy spent his entire life on dirtbikes then got a CBR600. After riding that for a year he stepped it up to an R1. And when he got the R1 it was so powerful he was afraid to wheelie it and refuses to do 1st gear wheelies. I know it sucks wanting to get a slower bike. But you'll learn a whole lot more from starting on a less powerful bike.
  12. Not sure about where you live. But I know in Georgia you can ride without plates for 30days as long as you got a bill of sale on you. Even if it's on a notepad. You will get pulled over but overall cops leave you alone. Mainly because they don't feel like chasing a bike knowing they'll loose. My 2nd day riding I got pulled over with no tag, insurance that wasn't readable, and riding after dark on a permit. He let me go no tickets or warnings.
  13. More like making MECHANICS out of BIKERS since 1918.
  14. I do have a place in my heart for older harley riders. My friend's father use to bounce for Hell's Angels parties(Talk about a tough bouncer). And I get to meet a bunch of his old Die Hard Harley rider friends. The irony is they love the crotch rockets and import bikes. They are just too old for them. If you really think about it the Harley Riders of the yesteryear (Easy Rider years) are nothing like the Harley riders of Today. They aren't badass', they don't get too crazy, and they just ride. If anything your "True Rebels" of bikes are the sport bike riders who run 200+mph, run from the police, and throw crazy parties with those beautiful girls modeling by their bikes. I'm surrounded by those people. Wether they are on an R1, CBR1000, ZX-9r, Busa, F4i, 999, etc. They are the crazy bikers that are the Rebels that everyone hates now but when they are older will fantasize about being.
  15. Honestly it probably was a good thing. It got many of us talking and coming back to the board. I think the post count went up since then, because people where coming back to see what was said and at the same time looked at other posts.

Welcome. They are cool looking bikes. In general as long as that bike isn't cranking out 100+ hp it should be a good beginner bike. One thing that is nice about older bikes. You can wreck them and not care.

That sucks about your license. I'd get an R6 and just go if you are pulled over. Then again in my state if you attempt to run the cops can't go after you. No matter what vehicle you are in and even if they get your tag number clear as day. The only reason they can persue you is if you commited a violent crime such as rape, murder, robbery, etc.
  18. I set up an account on Youtube to feature my friends and I doing racing, stunting, and whatever with motorsports. So I figured that others have done this too. I have a few vids of my friend on a Yamaha R1 doing tank wheelies and burnouts. I'm the yellow bike racing a Nissan 350z. We should have some more videos up soon. My Youtube Account If you have youtube feel free to add me as a friend. I'm looking for more motorcycle videos.

Not sure about Europe but I have an XJ600 in the States and I got insured through Progressive Direct. Can't convert it to your currency but I know I pay about $100 a year for Liability. I also don't know if they do international or if your government will accept an American Insurance company but you can try their website and see if they do.
  20. I could buy a Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, etc cruiser and buy some $10 Harley Davidson sticker and put it on the Suzuki and go up to you and tell you it's a Harley and you wouldn't have a clue that it wasn't a Harley.
  21. Harley's are Union made POS. Plus if you are about "America" or whatever it is Honda Employs 250,000 people in America. Harley only has around 40k including their Beull divison. So who's better for America? Looks like Japan. Harley's are peices of junk that are overpriced and only driven by Doctors and Lawyers who want to PRETEND for the weekend they are badass'. The true badass' on the bike are those "Plastic" bikes that are running 200+mph and doing wheelies and racing between cars. Those are the "Rebels". They are what Harley riders use to be in the 70s. Now if I could own a Buell yes I would. Those are some badass bikes. But unfortunately I can't afford the Repairs that will be needed. Made me think of a couple saying about Harley's... Riding a Harley doesn't make you a Rider. It makes you a Mechanic. or I Wanted to get a Harley but I couldn't afford the T-shirts.
  22. I have a 94 Seca. Now I haven't tried it but I believe the rear shock is adjustable. Not sure how much it would lower it. Your main problem is giong to be yoru front shocks. Those are tall and if you drop the rear too much she's going to feel like she's popping a wheelie at a redlight. Best thing to do is call a local bikeshop and tell them the situation and they'll be able to tell you what to do.
  23. I love tractor pulls. When I would visit my family in Northern Missouri (USA) there was nothing but farmland for 300miles in any direction. So they use to have a lot of tractor pulls. Man it was awesome. It could be the most manly sport in the world. Basically some guy said "I bet we can put a bunch of loud powerful motors together and pull some shit" and Tractor Pulling was born.
  24. Sweet looking ride. Is that a twin or an I-4?

What a joke. And how much do you want to bet this same guy is a enviro-whack job who drives a 400hp gas guzzling Mercedez but won't consider that many bikes average 50mpg/80kpg(?). Even with bikes at their worste the odds of someone other than the rider getting killed is pretty slim. I'm just happy that here in the states bikes are so popular that they don't stand a chance of getting banned. Mainly because half our lawmakers own Harley Davidsons sot hey can head out to The Gap and pretend to be outlaws for a weekend. Also in Georgia if you attempt to run from the police they can't persue you. The only reason is if you have a warrant out for your arrest for violent crimes such as Rape, Robbery, Murder, Assault, etc. They can't even get you if they get your tag number. Damn I love our legal system.
