Cool, I just told them I was a member lol Oh, now that I think about it, I phoned the special number, so I figure they knew I was a member anyway!

Errr... I don't believe you do..! If you're wanting it for an insurance reduction from Bikesure, you just need to tell them you're a member.
  5. How strange, all years have the same part number... Yeah, I've never seen brand new forks before! SO wish I had a spare grand! lol
  6. Then your only option is to contact Yamaha... Contact (yamaha-motor.eu)
  7. 96s have longer fork springs than other years? I wasn't aware that there were ANY differences between the years, the Ace was a parts bin bike... How strange... But wait, 97mm? That's less than 10cm! Have you messed up mm with cm there? Or did you mean 282mm, 297mm & 287mm? I've just had a rummage on Fowlers, as far as I can see, they've all got the same spring (same part number (4SV-23141-00))... I found this: Yamaha City - YAMAHA SPRING, FRONT FORK (4SV-23141-00) HOLY CRAP! You won't believe what I've just found!!! Yamaha genuine new yzf100r thunderace 1997 right fork assy pn 4sv-23103-00 | eBay Yamaha genuine new yzf100r thunderace 1997 left fork assy pn 4sv-23102-00 | eBay If I had the cash, I'd snap them up, they're at about half the list price on Fowlers (not that Fowlers can get them!!!)!
  8. Can you not contact whatever agency deals with registrations and tell them their printed information is incorrect? Maybe they'll simply correct the error...

Grats! Yeah, better safe than sorry, no telling what else may be loose. Service stuff doesn't cost much surprisingly, other than maybe the actual oil (of which you'll want to keep a stock of for topups)... Don't forget the clutch line when getting braided and make sure you're getting the twin front lines, not the up and over variety. Yeah, so long as your bobbins are firm, there shouldn't be a problem.

Not a clue on reliability, never heard of them before. But E-Bay is your friend most of the time for parts. Past that there's always Yambits : Yambits - Yamaha Parts
  11. Welcome in, I had to google what a Radian was, but looks cool. If you become a full member here, you can get a discount on your insurance from Bikesure...

Frankly, I'd start by taking it to the police (BEFORE you spend any more money on it) and ask them if it's nicked and work from there...

Ok, I found it, we'll see if I did it all right! lol

Do we not have somewhere to sell stuff? Or am I just missing it? lol
  16. Not a mechanic but... 1/ What RPM does it idle at when warm? 2/ Does it have a steady idle when warm? 3/ Does the engine run smoothly when warm, or does it surge?

    Looks solid! Nice bike...
  18. Nice! Can you post a picture of where the wires come out? Neither your pics nor the official pics show any wires! lol
  19. You just need to find a 3rd party replacement dial and swap it out.
  20. Swingarm removal/fitting shouldn't be difficult. You just need good bearings... As for the rest, not a clue!

Aaah... Probolt do some nice replacement stuff in Alu, SS & Ti.
  22. Cheapest option I could find in 2mins of googling...

Not cliquey... Just a bit quiet at the moment. ^^ You'd have to ask a dealer or someone about chains, I don't know the first thing about them (unless they're forklift lift chains!). What the hell are you doing to it with molegrips??? lol

Did you get it off the Thunderace Facebook group? If so, I know roughly where it came from! lol. What year/colour pattern is it? I'll have a look at mine for the bobbin issue, but I doubt it will be a problem. It's not a light bike, but let's face it, it's only sat there on them... I'm kinda surprised it doesn't already have some on! Braded lines are definitely worth the money (Front, back & clutch). Goodridge or HEL appear to be the way to go. Waterproofs are your friend! Although, I get a lot less wet on my Ace than I do on my V-Strom with a full screen..! Some things to consider: 1/ If you can service your callipers yourself, that's a good first step. 2/ You shouldn't need it for a while with only 12k on the clock, but at some point you'll need the valve gaps done which is an expensive job if you can't do it yourself as the Ace has 5 bucket valves per cylinder. 3/ Check your fuel lines for deterioration. 4/ Check your chain and sprockets and if it's time, get an uprated heavier set. My ace was eating my chains till I uprated!!! 5/ Take your side panels off and check the dash surround for missing fairing bolts. Replace what's missing and your side panels will fit better and not rattle/touch the frame. (Seems to be a strange thing with Aces, people just seem to loose them all the time! lol 6/ Yambits (amongst others) is your friend for the Ace... 7/ If worn, replace your footpeg rubbers, it's amazing the difference it makes to the Ace with good footpeg rubbers (get from #6 above)!!! 8/ Become a full paid member here, it's a good laugh, and you get insurance discounts!!!
  25. From what I'm seeing from Fowlers Yamaha WR250F 2018 ELECTRICAL 2 supplied next day (UK only) by Fowlers Parts it's one of 3 next to the battery...
