  1. At that price then, I don't see a reason not to give it a poke, if it works, great, if it doesn't, you've not lost much...
  2. Yes, it doesn't help that you've managed to get your handbag strap in the way either! 😛
  3. Welcome in, and hope you're on two wheels soon!
  4. Can we stop for ice-cream? Where's my potty? Why didn't I think of that earlier..?
  5. Yo..! Hmmm, I've always wondered about those things, how's the whole 2 front wheels thing going? Learn something new every day is my motto!
  6. There should be a thumbs up one...
  7. The obvious answer here is: Poke a little deeper before you ask... However, there are a few points that discount the obvious answer. 1/ Asking early gives us time to poke the most likely options and the unlikely options while you continue to look. 2/ There's a reason we're here and helping: We like a puzzle! 3/ Getting strange answers often triggers something in your own mind. 4/ Why not? So, keep asking! lol
  8. Are you 100% certain that the brake lever isn't bent at all?
  9. My paranoid suggestion for this instance would be: Send them the pictures, order the key to a FRIENDS house instead of yours... Or a PO box or dropbox or something... Just not the same address the bike is kept at.
  10. What can I say, just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean people aren't out to get me! lol. I can delete this thread if you want, but that doesn't solve the main possible issue...
  11. Errr... I hate to say it but... Yes, you can cut a key from a picture, I can cut a key from a picture with nothing but a blank and a needle file, that's not the issue... The problem is, what you've just done, is given some random person on E-Bay your bike key, AND your address!!! For the price of a key, that could turn out pretty expensive... And even if you DO get a perfectly working key in the post, doesn't mean they're not gonna come round later..!
  12. ROFL! Having used to be a shoe repairer / key cutter, I can confirm that's normal for Timpsons... Go find your local cobbler, he can probably do it.
  13. The lock is right under the edge of the seat just forward of the left shock. Bottom picture... YAMAHA RXS 100 RXS100 SEAT 5H5-W2472-00 | eBay
  14. No, I'm not named after Mr Plissken, it's not after the drink either... I have scars on my left index from a 14' Burmese Python bite
  15. Aaah, that would have been good to know earlier... lol The part numbers are different. If they were the same, they would usually have the same part numbers. That said, for £28, go for it... Buy it and see if it fits... Ok, I'm just completely lost now... Exactly which part are you looking for???
  16. You can never tell... But it's strange that fowlers only lists one year. Got a link?
  17. From what I can see, Fowlers don't list one for 1990, just for 1983. AND it's not available... Got a link?
  18. Watch out for shipping prices!
  19. Yeah, too far away for me, I'm West Yorkshire lol. Ok, a 2' bar isn't as long as you imagine (I use a 3' breaker bar on mine). I assume you're trying to turn it by hand, your legs are stronger. I would try one of these: Do the same as you were with someone on the bike and the brakes. 1/ Soak the nut in penetrating oil. Put the bar on so it's horizontal and put your foot on it. Making sure it's not gonna come off the nut, start taking up the flex in the bar. Once there, bounce slightly. If you're using a proper breaker bar, I'd expect to see a very stiff nut flex a 2' bar a couple of inches. One of these bounces should crack off the nut. 2/ Soak the nut in penetrating oil. Put the bar on so it's horizontal and put your foot on it. Making sure it's not gonna come off the nut, start taking up the flex in the bar. Once there, get a third person to strike the back of the socket with a hammer (firm flat blows (doesn't have to be really hard or anything)). This will basically act like an impact gun.
  20. Where in the UK are you? Might be someone close with an impact gun...
  21. There should be enough of the thread sticking out for you to see whether it's a left or right hand thread. A picture of the offending item would help here...
