So I'm cleaning my carbs and I tipped them upside down and a little ball bearing that looks like a bb and a spring came out and I don' know from where or what they are. I have looked up a diagram online and from what I see it says it' the detent ball and spring. Does anyone know what this is and where it goes? Thank you

i installed the petcocks but now the bike wont start. any ideas? ive been looking up info trying to figure out why, it was running but now it wont after the installation. and what happens if you forget to turn them off?

I am going to purchase mikes xs non vacuum petcocks for my 1979 xs 750 special. what will i have to plug up to switch to non vacuum. any tips or problems anyone has come accross when switching?

Hi all, I am recently a proud owner of a 1979 xs750. I am new to riding as this is my first bike but am eager to restore it and get riding. Thanks in advance for all the help as I am very very new but have been doing some research on the site already.

thanks for the reply.. I decided to tank the gas tank off and heard stuff rattling around in there so I have that soaking to get the rust out and i have taken the petcocks off to look at them. they looked bad and probably need a cleaning then after that its on to the carbs.... first time advice on cleaning carbs?

So im a recently new owner of an 1979 xs750. This is my first bike and im totally new to everything including how to restore/fix any problems but then again everyome has to start somewhere right. I am very eager to learn how to work on it and i have been doing my research on line. With that being said my problem is that i went on a ride to other day sounded like it needed gas so i came back and put it in and gas started coming out the carbs and it looked like the airbox. When i checked my oil you could smell gas. From researching a few things online my question is do i have something wrong with my petcocks leaking or my carbs.
