Also what amp / size wire do I need I'm in a hardware shop and didn't realise there were so many, it looks the same as a 17amp wire

Ok bike has no spark so took it apart, the 3 white wires that go from stator to the regulator rectifier are burnt out as are plugs that attach to the plug from the stator wiring , shall I just replace these wires or is this a sign of a dodgy stator
  3. Further to this does anyone know the primary and secondary resistance for the xv125 coils
  4. Ok so I have a dodgy coil on my xv125 , I ordered a compatible one but it has 2 6mm male spade terminals instead of a 6mm and a 4mm I think it is I need, so question is, is it just a case of cutting old female spade connector off the wire and putting a larger one on it and it will be good to go.

Ok the 2 hoses from the tank to petcock come off ok but thr 2 leading out of petcock to pump and vacume T seem to be stuck on, any ideas or tips how I can free them or are they all gonna be the same inner and outer diameter.

Cool will try that, after a thorough check of all cables and connections, when you say kick ,obviously it doesn't have a kick start but thr starter button will do yea

And the fact when I crank it no fuel comes out, but it just be flooded, I've also noticed fuel seems to be seeping from the hose end that goes from fuel pump to the carb, it's always wet when there hose goes on the metal bar thing

Yea the kill switch is on run, and I can hear the motor cranking and a fut fut noise which I assumed to be thr carb spraying fuel but not 100% on that,

I've so far swapped plugs over and made sure he spade connectors on the coil connection are ok properly ,

Ok so I removed plugs and replaced and grounded whilst put a couple of rags over holes and cranked it , absolutely nothing happened , no fuel seemed to be on rags and I also noticed front plug wasn't sparking , the plugs are new and I also cut a but of lead off to make a new connection to cap and plug and still no spark and no engine, how can a throttle cable snap cause all this . help

This is actual advice, do I have to disconnect the ankle first to stop more fuel getting in, ad if i leave rags over the holes will it soak up the majority ,
  12. Spike101uk replied to Spike101uk's post in a topic in The Bar
Yea took a bit of time and yeah had to move that throttle wheel thing back and forth a few times so flooded engine sounds about right, how do I fix that?

Ok so my throttle cable snapped on my xv125 virago , I've got a new one and gonna fit it myself , is it just a case of putting it on where the other one is or is there some secret method I have to know about , or any other tips.

Hi guys so as I'm not very technical or engineer minded I need some of your brains, As title suggests I have a xv125 virago and looking at lowering it by installing 8 inch rigid struts ( I've also heard the stories about the swingarm not being strong enough and other such things ) Obviously I know I need to shorten the kick stand, would anyone know by now much or if any other bikes are suitable, also would I have to play around with angle of front fork or will it be OK if I'm just lowering the back considerably.

So decide to Bobber my xv125 and currently looking at rear suspension, I know the Honda rebel 250 struts bolt straight onto the xv250 and I'm led to believe the xv125 and xv250 are the same bike just different engine bore and cdi unit, so if this is the case the rebel 250 shocks should also bolt straight onto my xv125, Anyone help with this ,

This may have been brought up before but what do people wear or recommend to wear instead of a leather jacket on those scorching summer days we are promised, I do only mean for getting around town and not long trips,

So when I bought my xv125 I had a hose I'm pretty sure was attached to the carb and just hung down, I attached to air pod and filter and since then it's now only attached at the air pod and can't find the bit to attach to to the carb, can anyone point me in right direction, I've read service Manuel and can't seem to see where it is

Does that mean the actual mileage is in kilometres until such time the converter was fitted, and presumably be a lot less than if it was on miles from the start

Ok so I noticed yesterday on my XV125 the speedo states Km/h on it and has the usual speeds up to 100, obviously at first you would assume the numbers are in Km/h but they don't as I've checked with phone trackers and such, anyone know why is this. Doesn't say MPH at all on speedo

Any ideas where or who could make a fender rack for my xv125 as they only build the ones that come off back seat and I want mine as a seat replacement. Ones for xvs are too big it seems
  24. Spike101uk replied to Spike101uk's post in a topic in The Bar
Thanks for the link However , while taking the rear seat off I managed to shear the bolt right at back in half and half is stuck in the mudguard, havnt got a drill so not sure how to get out and the bolt underside is a square and rusty too

Hi guys I've got hold of a saddlebag mount but it requires me to move rear indicators back about 5 inches, I've already got some bullet connectors but am unsure on what wire I need to use and where to buy from, I'm down south in UK if that helps people with suggestions.
