  1. I've connected the green wire coming from speedo to the sky blue wire and both black wires coming from speedo to 2 different earth wires,
  2. Yep just those 7 wires from new speedo unit, the neutral is backwards as in it illuminates when in every gear apart from neutral, but my flasher relay also only has a brown and a brown and white wire going into it, not the 5 wires that diagram states Should of said with it currently wired uo the neutral acts like that , it's obviously not supposed to
  3. This is the wiring of thr speedo unit This is thr wiring diagram i have its for an xv250 but it seems 90% of the colours wires match up to my xv125 At the front of the bike on diagram on thr left there is a plug with 6 wires going into from the dummy lights, they go in as per thr colours on this diagram but 3 are just the same plain brown and go to the flasher relay, I've basically dine direct swaps with the wires from original dummy light unit to wires coming from speedo, so far only high beam works, I've plugged everything in but have one brown wire left from relay and the Green and white wire from metre light to reed switch doesn't seem to do anything once I attached that, as didn't at first and assumed that was problem
  4. Ok a new update Neautral light only comes on when in every other gear but Neautral and nothing at all when engine is running, found a reed switch in old speedo but according to diagram I have it goes to a green and white wire to the relay but I only have 3 brown wires going to my relay. Havnt got a clue most of wires on diagram match mine apart from the odd few must point out I have a xv125 and using a xv250 diagram
  5. Ok just to update I've played around with speedo this morning and currently have the back light led on and the neutral and high beam lights work as they should however the indicator light is always on, and I have a spare brown wore coming from wire harness, and according to the only wire diagram I can find that's close to my bike goes to foot brake and then to neutral. So what do I do to make indicator warning light function properly
  6. There is no new fuses in any kit I've bought only the main fuse and turn signal fuse that came with the bike

All sorted, wired both filiment together and now have normal speed indicators , but now have other issues regarding speedo idiot lights , in another post

So I've bought a new speedo as it has incorporated idiot lights for high beam, indicators amd neutral leds, I've wired them up correctly as far as I can see, by basically detaching from old lights amd wiring to speedo, but they don't work, the high beam worked for a bit but now doesn't, any suggestions, would it be due to them being led and not original bulbs.

Yep 3 wires one each for filiment and one ground Changed them as they were matt black and looked a lot nicer than thr plastic chrome that's on my bike Got them really cheap on ebay and they came with the 3rd wire parking light,
  10. Spike101uk replied to Spike101uk's post in a topic in The Bar
My new indicators came with duel filiment bulb and fitment , the 2nd part is sposed to be used as a parking light but I'm not using that part
  11. Spike101uk replied to Spike101uk's post in a topic in The Bar
Yea cab only find 5w/21w duel filiment , it has a parking light option but I've blanked that wire off, would this make any diffirence if I just used the one filiment for indicators Also would that explain why with original front signals and new rear both rear ones worked untill I wired in the new ones at front Ok please tell me if this is a dumb idea but original ones were 15 w new ones are 5w/10w duel filiment, wot if I just wire both filiment up , as 5 and 10 make 15 right
  12. Spike101uk replied to Spike101uk's post in a topic in The Bar
Will 12v 21w work as original say 15w The only bulbs I can find with the high /low bayonet fitting are duel filiment
  13. Spike101uk replied to Spike101uk's post in a topic in The Bar
Just done this , original say 12v 15w new ones are 12v 10/5w but the bayonet connection is slightly diffirence one of the pins is higher than other so popping to halfords to see if I can get original wattage with new fittings

Ok so time to replace my tail light however the supplied wire is too short, Does anyone know what type of wire i need to extend its it's multi strand, but that's about all I know. Presumably doesn't take much power as it's only for a light, bike is an xv125
  16. The little bag is going so that rules that out, gonna try and reposition the lamp and cram as much in as possible and use inner tube or large heatshrink to hide, waterproof and neaten up the rest , hopefully

I have an xv125 and wanna paint the lower forks, is there a way of doing it in situ, without removing front whel and brakes etc,
  18. So I've installed a new headlight on my xv125, but it's slightly smaller bowl than the stock and therefore can't fit a lot of the wiring connections and plugs in to hide them, does anyone know of a way to hide I'm thinking make a small black metal box behind the bowl to secure them and neaten it up.

So just rode to work this morning bike felt a but sluggish , but I put this down to the cold morning, on arriving I notice white smoke coming from front exhaist pipe and the pipe itself was black and almost looks burnt, Can someone tell me what this, is it just the crap on the exhause burning off Just to edit the smoke was coming from the black patch on exhaust external and not out the end

So I've put a smaller seat on my xv125 but now have revealed the battery and electrics and its ugly so plan to make a plate to bolt on using the tank bolt and run under the seat, Anyone got any ideas or tips on what material to use and how to go about it

Does anybody know of its possible to move the rear shock mount from existing one to the fender mounting hole on an xv125a about 3 inch to left and up a bit on pic I'm assuming pretty simply if I installed a 10mm bush and used a high strength m10 bolt it and bolted it on it would be fine, but worry about the new angle of shock, basically I'm trying to lower it as much as I can and my curent shocks are 11.5 eye to eye and seen some that are 10.5 eye to eye, but want about 2.5 inch drop

So I'm looking at replacing my headlight for a matt black after market one and really like the look for the grilled ones, can anyone shed any light ( sorry couldn't resist) on its legality for use on uk roads
