Hi Harry, best advice anyone ever gave me was "if you can't make eye contact with a driver, he probably hasn't seen you". Car drivers don't see bikes very well. Keep safe. Trevor
  2. Hi Vern, so you are a 'youngster' then. I started biking again when I was your age and have never regretted it. That said, having taken my direct access test and bought a Bandit 1200 I nearly killed myself 3 times within a week. I quickly realised that speed was not my friend. That's 12 years ago and I've just bought a Yamaha XVS650 and joined the club. When you get your bike, try not to follow my example. I'm much calmer now and enjoy country lanes at 50 mph max. Trevor

Hi, I'm Trevor, live in Southend, Essex. I've just sold my pristine 01 Bonneville in exchange for a Yamaha XVS650 also pristine with only 3k on the clock. It's a 52 reg import from the US. My exchange may surprise a lot of bikers, certainly did my Triumph colleagues, but I like change. I'm sure I'm not the only biker out there like this - am I? My 650 is a delight to ride and has enough power (for me) and has both rider and pillion back rests. I absolutely love it (at the moment). My long term bike is a 1954 Sunbeam S8 which was made the same year as me but is in considerably better condition!
