Hi Blackhat No Rim Locks as difficult for me to get on island but would like to fit ,but the bike came with tyres that size, what size tyres and tubes do you fit

Hi just checking on the inner tube size for the rear tyre on my DT 125 R . the old one I took out was a CST 3.25/3.50-18 tube and the new one from Yamaha is a Bridgestone 4.10-18 tube . The tyre fitted is a Mithchelin Enduro 140-80-18 tyre. Asking because new tubes valve seems to stick through more as when tyou tighten the 2 nuts up there is visible rubber showing, not right i am thinking. Cheers.

Hi all Fitting a new TM 28 SS carb to my DT 125 R 2002 model, and noticed that old Carb had 2 pipes from top of engine and new carb does not have them, I am thinking they are heater piipes too warm carb,, seeing as its always above 80 deg where I live does it matter ?

Hi Cynic get where your going but earlier exhaust had a small plate in neck which was a restrictor apparently, with the later exhaust they just moved it further in to make it harder to get at, still thinking about it to be honest ,still doing my homework on subject at moment all i have done is removed reed fuse from speedo ( left it dangling in a sealed bag and taped under speedo). Not cutting till i am sure ,but thanks for input.

Hi AirHead, Actually found some pics on this site of a guy in 2012 (member name rcirjoescu )who had cut the baffle out on his 3RM-00 exhaust tryed to upload pics to show but there to big to do so, he says it inproved aceleration but top end the same but also improved sound of bike.

Hi AirHead Your right that number was off the Rear Tail Baffle section of Exhaust , which after checking up i found out is off a kawasaki 125 Dirt bike so hence your confusion . the downpipe is OEM Yamaha Part no 3RM-14610-00 ,sorry for confusion.

Thanks all, I am tuning it so far only taken reed link fuse out of speedo and left it dangling under clock bagged and taped up, but had read on a Tuners Site about the exhaust having 2 semi circular plates and wire wool in large part of down pipe , hence the question, as on my old 2 strokes the only restriction was the baffle in the end section ,which i only removed to clean sometimes before reinstalling .

Hi All Was just wondering if anybody had cut open and removed the Baffle plates and wire wool from a 2002 DT 125 R exhaust , and if you had is there any advice or pics for me to follow if I have a go . I have heard that if done it is just as powerfull as any after market exhaust ? true or not.?? Cheers

Great found it hiding in plain view on Oil tank LOL. it is a 3RM-20 model which is apparently one of the better ones.

Thanks Airhead, I just wanted to check which type of CDI unit was fitted, as I am doing a few tuning mods , ie have just taken out reed link from Clock to free up revs, but depending on CDI unit type fitted will limit performance improvement. Thanks again

Hi Everyone just bought myself a 2003 Yamaha DT125 R for getting about island and off roading,will be needing advice for sure as Bike has been laid up for 1 1/2 years. my first motorbike was a Fizzie DX in Kenny Roberts yellow Reg UFW 274R ( ah you never forget your first } , second bike Yamaha 250E and then a 350 LC all great bikes, so am glad to get another Yam even if its not running at moment lol. So from a newbie returning Yam fan hello again.
