It will be on my private drive and behind a wooden gate / fence.
I intend to use the bike as often as I can.
I think I had two days where I wanted to use the bike and chose not to over the winter as conditions were too bad.
The most I see it stains with the cover on would be a week or so if I was away, other than that I intend to use it.
So the cover is really for overnight use mainly.
For the foreseeable future I will need to store the XJ6 outside.
Anyone have recommendations on type and size of cover?
I was looking at the OXFORD stormex in Medium.
Will that fit? Any other recommendations?
I think they will start charging for a lot of things. From what I hear W10 will be the last version of windows to be released under a traditional major version model. So online updates are going to be important - maybe even chargeable. Then you have O365 and apps as you say.
I installed W10 on my sons laptop a few weeks ago. He says drivers are still a bit iffy but W10 in general is better than W7 (for him - but he is a youngster!).
First time for me too. If confronted with it again I will be doing what I did this time. Transfer to a new policy. They waived the fee if I did that. Then cancel immediately (you have 14 days to cancel) for a full refund less what you have used. Worked out for me this time although I used 10 days worth of insurance - which was great as I wanted to test ride a few bikes in that time anyway.
Just had a similar experience with CN. I took out a new policy so as not to get charged (£50 in my case). Then I cancelled the new policy within the 14 days with no admin charge levied, just prorated use. (I cancelled after 10 days.)
I then went with AF - eek - as they were one of the only ones who would insure me!
The accessories will be: heated grips. Handle guards, hugger, tail tidy, crash bungs, usb power, scotoiler, fly screen!
I think that's it! Feels a bit like Christmas.
Any other suggestions?
I think I will end up being a bike a year type so hopefully time and opportunity to try different things.
I did prefer the VTwin but I think the XJ6 will be the better beginners bike from the off.
Ye pays yer money and take yer chances I guess. If I change my mind I can change the bike.
Yep I preferred everything about the MT07 to the Diversion other than the ride itself.
I am looking at various XJ6s. I prefer the look of the naked for sure and I see a few abs examples (not much though). I have seen more diversion or diversion f examples with abs. I would probably be ok with a fairer or half faired example although I have been wondering (and googling) whether it would be possible to get to the naked look from the diversion should I get one.
That's a nice bike. Does yours have ABS? Selling?
Yep I am looking at them right now. I did want to buy from the dealer (had a good experience there) but I think it's going to be ebay / auto trader.
I instantly liked the XJ6. I know I could learn to like the MT07 but I think it will be the XJ6 for the first bigger bike.
I prefer the naked look over fully faired. I prefer the noise of the twin over inline 4.
The XJ6 really is more than the sum of its parts based on just a 40 minute test ride today.
