Anybody tried fitting one of these before?? I can't work out how to get the top mount of the monoshock. Trying to lower the bike with the use of a kit rather than going all cowboy and j slamming it.

Ok thanks. Ill have a word with the shop I bought it from.

Thanks. So just that I've got it perfectly clear. I've replaced the original relay with one to run LEDs and now need a inline resistor to deal with current.

    Right I'm really confused now.

Got the proper relay and everything was fine until I touched the front ones. Been told elsewhere I need inline resistors now?

Yeah replaced it with a dedicated led relay. Was all working ok until I cut the stock front ones off and fitted LEDs to the front.

Hi all. Been getting stuck into my bike the last few days and its been a blast. I've now hit a slight snag. Fitted l.e.d indicators.they are not flashing but staying light up constant. I've replaced the relay so that narrows that out as google is saying that a common fault. Everything was working ok until I chopped the wires of the front indicators. Replaced them tried it to make sure before I got the solder iron out but no more flashing. Anybody any ideas??

Thanks for the input. Totally understand what you guys are getting at but I'm building the bike more for show than go. Yes it will be used for the occasional run out the city but 90% of my riding is around built up areas. Ill stick to trying the lowering kit seems to be the better option than drilling the frame.

Highway hawk does a kit. Custom parts for less. £42 including delivery. Ill just need to sort spring clamps out.

Was thinking it looked a bit rough. Ill price up spring clamps and the proper kit.

Sorry guys got this wrong. J slam not j bolt http://650ccnd.com/webslinger/Mods/RearEnd/slam.pdf

Hey. Loving my new bike but now dealing with a few minor issues cosmetically. The distance between the rear wheel and fender is huge!! Seen lowering kits that will drop bike about an inch and a bit. However thanks to YouTube I've discovered this j bolt idea. Basically what it involves is drilling a hole through the frame and using the original bolt again. Anybody on here tried this?

I better just see if I can measure them then. Hopefully I'll be able to work out a circumference and take it from there. In the meantime though I've actually rolled the stock bars forward and whilst seated my hands are up at shoulder height. I'll ride like this for a bit to see how this affects handling.

Thanks guys. I'll give it a go. Nothing to loose by trying it.

Hey,this is my 1st post so be gentle. Just bought myself a 2000 xvs650 dragstar as a project bike. I can't find a definate answer on the bar diameter. Is it 22 or 23 mm or 7/8 1" every shop seems to advertise in a different size. Also anybody know how much extra play there is with the wiring and cables. Seems to be a few spare inches of cable and was hoping to go up to a 12" ape hanger. I'm pretty handy at soldering wires so extending them isn't a problem but I'm not finding replacement cables easily. Thanks
