V Star

I'm Jesica, a city girl, living in Washington, DC. At 16, my friend took me for a ride on his motorcycle & I immediately fell in love with the freedom, ride and feel of the wind & bugs smacking me in the face....fast forward 15yrs later & now I own a bike.

I'm fairly new to riding & am a 1st time owner of a V-star (hence the profile name). I don't have many bike owners around, so I'll be looking forward to learning & sharing my journey with the group. This city make up is mostly of bicyclists, scooter owners & few motorcyclists. Imagine my dismay to learn there are no bike mechanics in DC (most are in Virginia or Maryland), which makes it quite difficult to get my bike in for a tune up...hence, I decided to learn how to do most work myself.

No formal background training or even the slightest clue on the mechanics of the motorcycle, but hey..I'm learning. Also, city living doesn't afford a garage or much space to house many tools or equipment for repairs & building but I'm working with what I've got.
