    Hello. I have built a trail bike from a BSA Bantam frame and have fitted a SR125 engine. So far it has carried me all round the wonderful lanes of Lancashire and, a few years I took it up to Orkney and Shetland to ride around the islands. It is one of three bikes I own, a 2005 mildly modified Royal Enfield Electra X and a replica 1942 WD RE/CO sidecar outfit. Currently I am preparing the BSA to take to the Somme in June. Unfortunately I have discovered metal shavings on the oil filter as mentioned in my post under 'Projects'. Looking forward to joining the forum.

    SR125 post 1999 engine : metal shavings

    I am changing the oil filter and discovered small aluminium shavings on the outside of the filter and in the filter housing. I have checked both timing and clutch side covers and they are free of the shavings. Any ideas where they may be coming from. All suggestions grateful received.
