Hi IKE, thanks for all the posts, very informative. I have the same bike, same colour and everything. Mines a 1994 with 44k on the clock. It's on SORN until the weather picks up. I'm planning on replacing the brake cables as they feel a bit "spongy" and also doing another few bits and bobs as time allows (full time job and two small kids!!). Anyway, just thought I'd let you know I've enjoyed the posts both yours and the replies from slice.

Have popped by a local customiser today and he quoted roughly £200 to machine serrated edges off the yokes then fit risers and a one piece bar. Cables will also be replaced with longer ones, seemed like a fair price so I've booked it in for 2 weeks time. Will post pictures once work is done.

Hi Chedd, I was wondering if you've had any luck with the bars as I was thinking of doing the same thing to mine,(only had it a week) (Its a 1994 XJ900F). I need the bars to come back about 2" and up about 1". I also want to move the footpegs down and forward slightly. The adjustable footpegs on ebay dont look as though they would fit.

Hi All, just a quick note to say hello. My name is Pete and i'm from South Yorkshire. I have recently bought a 1994 XJ 900F in Blue and White - loving it! There are bits and pieces that need doing so doubtless I will be back on bugging you all in the near future. Used to have a single cylinder BMW F650 and the change to a four cylinder machine is unbelievable!
