  1. You could probably make them fit . Maybe easier to fit a whole front end from the headstock .
  2. You're right , that's the exhaust heat shield . You could replace the part or make one up easily enough . Or you could tell any prospective buyer that it's missing and allow him/her a few quid off the asking price . Careful you don't melt your boots/leg off that exhaust .
  3. "Gotta make sure there's no build up attached to the labia " (1m25s) , I snorted coffee on that one , lol .
  4. 60hp , not to be sneezed at ! Motor sounds real sweet , nice quiet pipe . Result !
  5. Glad you're ok mate ! Make sure you nail the driver, and don't say thanks after !
  6. That's your brake pedal return spring .

Yep , same as our victim ! The lads had him running up and down the lane looking for his bike for ages before he spotted it up on the scaffolding on it's sidestand . lol
  8. If you grab the stand and wiggle it , does it move side to side ? If so the pivot pin or the holes it passes through ,or both , could be worn . Are you sure it's not touching the chain because the chain is too loose ? That chain's seen better days !

Oh , the lads at work would love that alright ! Feckers , lol . I remember there was a car park being built across the lane from a courier company I used to work for . One of the lads left his KH100 outside the job and when he came out to get it he couldn't find it . Because the lads had climbed up and dragged it to the third level of scaffolding ! Those funny lads eh !

Oh , as they say in Ireland , "BOLLOCKS!" . Glad you're ok mate . Must have some tough feckin' rabbits over there !!
  11. What's wrong with the DT wheel ? If the hub is ok it might be better to get a rim and spokeset .
  12. I'd take that old Honda off your hands 'Iron , if it's taking up too much garage space , lol . Don't forget to show us the progress with the little Yam's .
  13. Sorry to hear that man . Have you gotten onto any breakers to see if they have what you need ?
  14. Fair play Grouch . Just take your time , try to get the best tools you can afford , think before you use a lot of force on anything and if you feel you are getting flustered go have a cuppa and then get back to it . And don't forget , your bike buddies on here will always point you in the right direction .
  15. I've always had a soft spot for the old SR500 . The little window on the engine to let you know it's at TDC and ready for a good kicking was a nice touch . Your bike looks very tidy and well maintained Guardy , don't sell it in haste to buy something which needs a lot of work done .
  16. Not while it's moving kid . Just kidding . Seriously , there is a world of difference between a 125 custom and a 1000cc race rep . Do you use your bike for commuting in traffic ? If so an R1 will break your back and hurt you wrists , and that's if you don't crash it . And dont forget , tyres , brakes , chain and sprockets all cost multiples of what they do for the small bike . Having said all that , any bike can be ridden at walking pace if need be . So , it's up to you , but my advice would be to go the 400/600 route . ( I loved my VFR400 and I don't think I've ever ridden a better handling bike , and they'll do 60mph in 1st gear ) Do you really need an R1 right now ??
  17. Yep , with the lever on the shaft , looking at the little circle , drill inward toward the bike , so you are drilling half on the shaft , half on the lever . Best to do it on the side away from the pinch bolt . You will try a new lever first though . wont you ? Borrow one from another bike just to see if that works before you go drilling , or put a nut and washer on the longer bolt you tried and see if it'll tighten for you that way . Check the longer bolt doesn't foul anything when you use the shifter .
  18. NOOO!!! , Don't strip it !!! The best fix for this is as follows - Firstly , find the position you normally like the gear lever at when you are riding and mark it ( Tippex or permanent marker will do ) . Then slacken the bolt on the lever slightly . Take a drill with a 3 or 4 mm bit and CAREFULLY drill , half on the shaft and half on the lever , and parallel to the gearshaft , and drill in about 1cm . Keeping your marks aligned . Then find a nail or something similar which will fit in the hole and act like a woodruff key , and trim it to the same length as the drilling . Pop it into the hole and tighten the bolt . (It sounds like the thread has gone in your lever , you may have to use a slightly longer bolt and a nut to tighten it .) If done properly it'll never slip on you again . I hope I've explained this clearly , if you're not sure , get back to me and I'll explain further . Or alternatively , strip the cover off the engine , replace the expensive shaft , buy new gasket's etc . Hope that helps .
  19. Well done the lads !!
  20. Oh God !! Spotted this on another site and had to stick it up ,it's classic ! Don't you just hate that skid demon !!
  21. Careful when fast filtering on that trike ! Wouldn't want an instant unicycle .
  22. Lovely bikes man . Anybody know why the SRX's had a decal on saying "Light Sports" ? Bloody things weigh a ton !
