  1. Rule out the simple things first eh' ? If she's low on oil check the camshafts for blueing . Hopefully It will be something small though . Good luck . Btw , 4 strokes can be more complicated and expensive to rebuild , unfortunately .

Just noticed this thread Finners . You're off to a good start . Can't beat a good DT for fun ! What's the crack with the motor ?

Did you replace the starter motor brushes Noise ? Did mine on the CG recently and I reckon the starter is putting out more power than the bike motor , lol .
  8. You could have , but I doubt it would run at all . Check the electrical stuff is ok .
  9. Did you check it for oil ??

Put a new spark plug in and clean the exhaust out with caustic soda ( and be feckin' careful with that stuff) .

They look fine , you could set them off nicely with some handlebar muffs .

Is it still legal to tape over the offending part of the headlight lens ? Bro's LC has it done , no mot for bikes over here .

That'll keep you rolling while you decide how to sort it . Do you know anyone who could drill it out for you and clean up the thread after ? That'd be my next step Grouch , although one of the others will probably be along with a better solution for your problem . Keep us posted .
  18. Have you ridden the WR250 ? If it's the 2 stroke version you might be surprised as to how fast they are . As for the tank range issue , Acerbis or somebody will make a larger one I'm sure .

Just looked at the photo Grouch , I'd try Drewpy's approach , but use a blunt ended drift on one of those square projections at the outer edge . Best o' luck .

You dont have to whang the crap out of it , one smart tap usually does the job .

I've a set of large can Allspeeds on standby for my LC build . They're from an aircooled RD but the 'Bro had 'em on his LC and they looked and sounded the message .
  22. Result ! Lovely skills and a great looking bike . Well done man !

If the mole grips fail , saw a slot in the head of the bolt and use an impact screwdriver to crack it off . Very handy tool for about ten quid . You can lay the bike on it's side on a couple of car tyres to make the bolt easier to get at . Best of luck .

Hi there , make sure any circlips etc have been removed and use something with a blunt rounded edge , like a tyre lever to lever out the seal carefully , so you don't damage the fork leg . Stand the fork upright with the seal upward , place the lever under the edge of the seal , place a folded rag on top of the fork leg and push the end of the lever downward to push the seal up and out . Best of luck .
