    Hello

Best o' luck with the new bike kid ! Get yourself a decent lid and a pair of boots and gloves . Anything else is optional . I saw a lid in Halfords for €40 , that'd get you started .
  4. The 175 set up fits straight on , but you'll have to reset the two stroke pump for some extra oil . Not too sure but maybe the carb is the same , might need rejetting though . There wont be much difference on the road though . The little extra power is handy off road . If she's vibing badly you should replace the crank and main bearings though . I'm sure all those years lying up will have left their mark .

    Finally !!

Man they're Identical except for the split pins ! Mine don't have those . I managed to track down the two I need from one o' the blokes over on the RDLCcrazy forum . So I'll leave those with you in case someone needs those exact ones . Glad you posted the pics . Thanks for taking the time Mervin , much appreciated .
  6. Fair play Lem ! Keep your eye on the oil level . They like a little drop 'cos of those big cylinders .
  7. I saw that in the first photos but couldn't quite make it out . Does the owner have an explanation ? My guess is the exhaust may have been changed and that these are the cables for an exhaust valve on the original . It's just a guess though , I'm not familiar with these bikes . What are the other end of the cables connected to ?
  8. You could use a cast wheel from a roadbike if you want to make it easier for yourself .
  9. From the photo it looks like the bike just fell over mate . The lever can be replaced easy enough . Just get someone to sit on the bike with the front wheel in the straight ahead position while you hunker down in front of the bike . Look down along both sides of the front wheel , towards the rear wheel and just make sure every thing is straight . It's just a quick check to rule out a badly bent frame . P.s. You should say Hi in the new members section , you'll get more replies that way mate .
  10. Sweet man ! She'll be rockin' AND rollin' . Love the fork brace !
  11. Like taking off in a wheelie with your steering lock on ? I wonder what idiot could have done that ? (whistles... )
  12. That's it man ! Who wants a car that switches itself off when a fault code lights up 'cos the fag lighter is broken . Way too much tech in the new cars . And I wouldn't want a car that reports me to the cops via google every time I touch 56mph !
  13. Drive it 'til it stops Cynic, then get another one cheap . It's not like it's a bike or anything , lol.
  14. I'm still sick that I wrote off my '86 toyota Starlet DX , Great little car ,and the only car I ever owned . I got it in '08 with only 36k on the clock . Thought maybe me and cars don't mix after that . If I still had it the road tax would be only 26 euros per year .
  15. Also if the oil has been slightly overfilled it can blow out of the engine breather .
  16. My point exactly Cynic . It also pisses me off that drivers of older cars are hammered on tax due to their supposedly greater emissions while VW conned everybody with new cars which had the fuelling tweaked to fool the emissions tests . We've a 20yr old Corrola 1.3 here and pay more road tax than people driving new supposedly cleaner vehicles . The Corolla doesn't burn any oil . Have you heard how many new Golfs have been throwing rods because the fuelling is leaned out for testing , which measures emissions at engine speeds pretty close to those at normal urban cycle driving ? Also if you check it out you'll find that most of the car manufacturers are tied in with each other in various ways . Phew! Thanks . Rant over .
  17. If you ever get a close look at a race bike you'll see the discs on some are held onto the disc centre by a single slip ring (like a large circlip) , if you grab the disc outer and give it a shake it'll rattle like buggery . The disc'll usually be cast iron and the clearance tightens up (a bit ) when the disc is properly warmed up .
  18. Put two Hayabusa engines in there , that'll sort it ! VW and Audi have been pulling the wool over peoples eyes , the feckers .
  19. And the gearbox output shaft seal behind the front sprocket .

    Finally !!

    Any luck Mervin ?
  21. A courier I used to work with had wires from his HT coil laced around the handgrips like lockwire . When leaving the bike unattended he'd flick a switch in under the tank and arm his security/torture device .

    Finally !!

Thanks Mervin , I'll see if I can find out . As far as I know there's a few bikes and the Banshee Quad all sharing the same set up . Right , Selector fork part numbers - 2GU-18511-00 Fork #1 2GU-18512-00 Fork #2 . I think 2GU is the model code for the Banshee quad but the digits are the same on the LC . Cheers Mervin . Needs must when the Divil drives Slice ! lol ! Not sure which model yours are from Mervin but this link is for the '79 400F ,http://www.mrcycles.com/oemparts/a/yam/50041cb4f8700209bc7861a1/shifter-1
