  1. it takes a litre, so i just bought one of those 1 litre bottles. i figured if i drained it all out, then it would be bang on. but soon after the oil change i started getting the leak. i wondered if this could be caused by overfilling? i.e. if there was actually some oil left in that hadn't drained out
  2. i'm not sure. read opening post...
  3. thanks - i've been and bought some ptfe tape today. any ideas what could have caused this? could it have been caused by overfilling the oil?
  4. i changed my oil recently and ever since i've had a small oil leak that i didn't notice before i was careful to drain all of the oil out of the bike (or at least i thought i did) by letting it drain for 20 mins on the centre stand, and then moving the bike about until every last drop appeared to be out. i then filled it with a 1l bottle of oil ever since then, i've had a small oil leak as pictured below. i think it might be seeping out through the bolt in the middle of the picture. any ideas what i may have done to cause this? and how it can be fixed? thanks
  5. just to let you know, when i checked the voltage again whilst the battery was back on the bike, it was just under 13v and when i turned the key to 'on' it dropped to under 5v! so i've ordered a new one thanks
  6. i don't have any jump leads, but i have got one of those battery booster things. i'll give that a try. thank you for your quick response
  7. i'm running a 2010 yamaha ybr 125 on L plates. i've got my test next week so i'm wanting to practice my skills. typically, it's decided to stop working! at first, i turn the key to 'on' and the lights would come on but it wouldn't fire up when i pressed the ignition button. the more times i tied it, the weaker the lights got until the point where no lights came on at all i took the battery off and stuck it on charge, but the charging unit said it was 'max'. so i used a multimeter to check the resting voltage, which was over 13v (which i believe is ok?) so i don't think the battery's at fault. i've checked the blue fuse that's connected to the positive cable and that appears to be fine..... so i'm kinda stuck what to look at next??? one thing i did notice was when i hooked up the battery to the bike to try it again, when i turned the key to 'on' i heard a strange crackling sort of sound (kind of like sparks of electricity), but then it went quiet again and the lights worked for a short while but the engine still wouldn't start. then the lights faded out again any ideas? thanks
