  1. I would go back to dealers. A 125 can't ruin a chain in 5 months.
  2. Yes paid about 20 quid each for both my dt's. Lucky with one. Ended up paying nova import duty for the other 1979 one as was paper records back then.
  3. On the yambits gasket there is a ridge around it. Is it fitted with the raised part of the ridge to head or barrel?
  4. Just borrow some out of your Swimming Pool! Only jealous.
  5. Now that is nice!
  6. Went gawsworth hall today. They had a dart at the classic car show. Think it used to chase villains in the day
  7. Cheers will try the wet and dry on the head. Still runs ok funnily enougH! S.
  8. Just changed the 2 stroke oil on him fired him up and noticed bubbles coming out on carb side of head gasket. Was replaced and torqued to Haynes manual specs not 50 miles ago. Can head warp on such a small engine? Regards Simon
  9. I agree with sprocket spinning due to oil drag. Saw it on my mtx50 in 1985 when the chain snapped.

  13. Fancy the gear for the missus. First ride out on the xt as pillion this weekend since she flipped her mt50 up a house wall!
  14. Dont forget a coil can have leakage to earth as well whice can lose voltage . Salt crud moisture etc can also reduce voltage to earth if varnish is low insulation . If you know electrician with a megger get him to do leakage test.
  15. Passed my test in durban south Africa. As long as you didnt wipe out in the gravel pit on the test all ok. Not valid in UK so did cbt and mod 1 and 2 with apex new mills. OMG used to ride in flip flops and shorts in the 80s. Im horrified at as a kid at what i used to do. So expensive course but needed.
  16. Mains umder load?
  17. Sun? Hairdrywr in the UK ar the moment!
  18. Whats the coolant that edd China endorses that never boils so no pressure on gasket. Would it work in LC?
  19. I see wemoto do this kit http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/xt_600_e/91-94/picture/starter_motor_repair_kit/ Worth a try at 23 quid. Thanks all.
  20. On closer inspection I think it may be the clutch rod oil seal as its next to the breather hose. Spring is very oily. Not so simple. Simon.
  21. Is that if you go over 55mph?
  22. Casing. looks like under starter motor.
  23. I took the breather hose to the airbox and reversed the hose connection from the top of the gearbox to the airbox as hose had split due to the operating temperature of the engine. It still has a leak from the starter motor area which dribbles down the back of crankcase. Oil tank is not overfilled. Is that making more sense?
  24. Thought id cracked it by reversing heat hardened cracked hose to airbox as diagnostic procedure. Still it leaks under starter. Oil level in middle. Any tips?
