Can anyone run down the differences between a just old plain 77 - 84' 400cc Bike. Then the 400 special, and then the special II, and then the heritage etc. I have a 81 400 Special II -- I've been wondering what's so special about a Special?? Thanks Bob

Hello all A new menber seeking advice: I have a rather nice '81 Yamaha XS400 Special II with a 77 2R2 series engine installled -- somebody did a nice job -- but how am I going to title this in my home state of Florida ?? Any suggestions?? Thanks Bob

Hi I'm a new member with a request. I've a 400 Special II that has a model number I cann't find on the web the bike was made 12 /80 Does that mean a model year of 80 or 81 ?? The VIN is JYA4R400 BAOD6740 it has alloy wheels Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks BobC
