Clutch and rear brake round corners. That does not compute in my mind? :? This isn't the way to go round bends or are you talking about coming out of junctions? The olny time i use the rear brake round a corner is if I am carrying too much speed and I have to slow down but dont want to use the front because of the angle I am leaning. Pulling out of junctions on a big bike can be difficult if you try and take it tight. Try to pull out more gradual keeping the bike more upright allowing you to pull out a little faster. As for going round corners and using the clutch. Like mentioned before, try and get into the right gear before entering the corner so you are in the right rev range to pull out of the corner. Hope this helps. If I am totally of what your probolem is then just let me know exactly where your problem is and what your thoughts and feelings are.

It is basically your bike test. But you take your test on a 125 and then you are restricted to 33bhp for 2 years. Mostly happens when you are not old enough to do a Direct acsess course on a 500 or something. when you do direct acsess you take your test on a big bike and then when you have passed can ride anything you like.

You have to do a turn in the road. Walk your bike round aswell. Emergency stop, up hill start etc etc. Cover the back brake when you have stopped. And you have to remember Mirror, mirror, shoulder check, every time you change direction. And you have to remember Mirror, mirror, shoulder check, indicator, shoulder check turn at a junction or overtake. No wheelis or Stoppies! I passed first time with no minors! 8)

the Stantions have pits in them and scores so even with new seals they started leaking again. The springs are too soft and they bottom out. It even did this just after i put new seals in with new thicker oil. So i thikn it either needs new springs and stantions (over £200) or just get a pair of forks of E-bay for about £30

I have had the oil seals changed but they started leaking again. The stantions are shot at and the seals wont seal. They are too soft as well and need stiffer springs. So I thought it would just be much cheaper to get another set of forks.

I would do but my Forks just make a mess of my clothes! And my brakes dont work too well covered in fork oil!
  10. TarkMalbot replied to Beezkneez's post in a topic in The Bar
I really need to do something about them now. Fork oil is dripping onto my calliper and disk and flicking all over my shoes and pants! I haven't been riding it for a while. They are 38mm forks and forks off an SRX, FZR or FZ 400/600 should fit. So if anyone knows of anything let me know. I have been keeping an eye out on the e-bay but not got anything yet.

I Joined up for some help. And even though I didn't get any I still come on here to share what little knowledge I have about bikes and racing.

I have had this every time I have used certain companies on the net to advertise a bike or car. Must be something to do with money laundering. I would stay well away.

Or come out of a corner on a bike with 150bhp at the back wheel and open it wide whilst your still banked over. The back wheel comes round, you shit your pants and back the throttle off, the back end grips again and you end up cartwheeling down the track with your bike doing the same. Not that I have ever done that.

All the time matey! Only ease it on out of corners, otherwise you will end up on your ass! But then again I am talking about supersport racing.

My mum wasn't all that keen on me to start racing and spending all my money on it. The more I race though the better she is about it now. She still gets a bit worried when I crash and stuff. She is coming to watch me for the first time in July! That will be a laff!

I wouldn't let a car get that close to the back of my bike. They can eat my dust!

It was a purple one with white and orange bits on it. DT125RS I think. The S being for the electric start. :? ?? Never mind.
  22. TarkMalbot replied to stevie taff's post in a topic in Naked
My R Reg 1998 DT125R was an Electric start. And In the Owners manual it had all the instructions of how to start it.
  23. TarkMalbot replied to stevie taff's post in a topic in Naked
Even the earlier DT models came with the option of the electric start. The DT you are about to buy may not even have a servo for the power valve. If this is the case just open the valve up and it will be open at all times. Low down power will suffer but will rev better at higher revs. If the bike does have a servo fitted then you might also need to look at the wiring as the powervalve will open at about 6k but then close again as you rev more. The Standard exhausts sometimes have a washer welded to the inside of them just a few inches infront of the exhaust port. But removing this or putting on a dep pipe will improve performance. A dep Pipe will make the bike rev quicker and increase back pressure. It may lack a little power at low revs again but 2 stroke off-roaders are all about top end high reving power.

I think it will fit. I cant remeber off the top of my head but if you look on www.essexbikers.com/forum there is loads of information on powervalves and what will fit what.

I Have never used my back brake whikst racing! (might have something to do with it allready being locked up or not on the floor when braking??) :?
