Sorry dt502001 i no i get all excited with my issues lol but i think iv fixed it now was a carb issue i did a lame ass job of cleaning it i didnt take all jets out the choke or the idle and mix screws out either its was filthy inside those ports i got the trusty haynes manual out to sort it iv ridden bike today seems ok on a short run no cutting out or anything so fingers crossed its fixed thanks for all your help everyone if anything goes wrong ill let you no and try not to act retarded chasing balls lol
  2. Yeah i thought that also could it be a slight air leak were the accelerator cable screws into top of carb mine is a flat slide type
  3. Ok cheers ill take carb off again and go over everything with a fine tooth comb see what happens thanks guys
  4. Another quick 1 guys the engine stays at the same idle speed with choke on or off
  5. Iv had all the jets out and cleaned thoroughly but iv noticed the 1 were the throttle needle goes in has abit of damage on top of it would it be worth changing and should i adjust the jet needle position read that could be a problem
  6. Just been reading on another post i havent cleaned out the mixture screw and the idle screw on the side of the carb i forgot to do these could this be an issue aswell

Iv tried that but same thing happens its still bogging out with choke off it when engines warm its fine to ride if i dont hit piwerband iv also noticed that the jet were the the rev cable needle goes has scratch marks on top of it like something or the previous owner has damaged it do you think it would be a good idea to change the jets and what are the standard size if you no please
  8. Hiya guys just been out on the bike it rides ok if i potter abour but if i hit powerband and come to stop bike cuts out and only starts with choke on any ideas were to go from this please
  9. Ok guys finally got my fuel tank back from being repaired had to get it welded up hopefully get it back in tomorrow so ill update you when iv finally started it fingers crossed its all good now

Yeah iv cleaned petrol tap out and fuel tank think there was a blockage in tap but its cleared now but previous owner has screwed furring bolts through tank like an idiot so im just in process of repairing the holes also im going to clean air filter today and the air box hopefully have it built up today to test it out

Yeah i no what you mean its hard without seeing the problem but up to now The jet is defiantly clean iv blastedcarb cleaner through all holes were jets fit in the float has no holes init iv checked that and its fitted in correctly with the rocket valve so im assuming thats set correctly as i dnt no how to adjust it lol but the air filter is a pipercross filter though not a standard 1 this was in the bike wen i got it but i will clean it out and work through this list and get back to you cheers guys

  13. Yeah took pilot jet out all holes were clear i could see daylight through them all before i put it back in
  14. Pilot jet is clean and the 2 adjustable screws on the carb are set to 1 and a 1/2 turns out iv been told this is yamaha factory setting but if there is a better 1 than that you no of ill happily give it a go

I leave choke on 5 mins but bike eventually dies like runnin out of petrol but will start up after a few kicks with choke still on and idle the same and still bogs wen i take choke off also iv noticed oil or something going on the front pipe of the exhaust near the manifold is that a gasket problem and would this affect anything

  17. No iv not tried these yet ill clean the tap and tank tomorrow can the fuel cap cause a problem if so what is it please

It does clear if i let revs build slowly at a standstill just bogs if i put full revs on quickly and i havent tried to ride it yet since iv resealed all inlet manifold up tonight but it was cutting out though before i cleaned carb out after around 200 meters of riding like it ran out of petrol but kicked up again eventually also seems to run better if i have ppetrol tap on reserve
  19. Also if choke is on it slowly starts to die if i leave it idleing
  20. It does it with choke off and it happens if i open the throttle fast it bogs and tries to cut but if you twist throttle quickly on and off a couple times i can stop it from stalling if you get what i mean
  21. Iv cleaned out all jets out aswell and made sure i can see light through all the holes in all the jets

Ok so heres were im at now iv followed the advice iv been given so far which has been a great help Iv rebuilt the carb and sealed up the inlet manifold and reed valves the manifold has no holes init and looks in good condition iv also checked the crankshaft seals they seem ok and now it seems to be idleing fine but when i try to rev the bike it bogs out like its being starved of fuel is there anything else i should look for

  24. Is it possible to fit the reed valve block upside down or can they go in either way round took my dt125 1999 apart and forgot to mark it up school boy error
