Ok iv had a break through i think lol i changed plug bike now runs but only with the choke plunger up iv also ridden it and it pulls well but on idle the bike ticks over 2k but starts to die out and if i adjust idle screw the revs raise for a couple seconds but then drop back down if i blip revs then dies off also the mixture screw is doing nothing iv got it screwed out pretty much all the way and if i screw it bk in bike wont rev over 6k but i still havent got a rubber oring or washer on it any ideas iv also sprayed all around inlet manifold reed valves and crank casing and no change in revs i also took the restriction bottle off and sprayed carb cleaner in there bike died instantly but started straight back up hope this helps you with my problem this is best i can explain the running of the bike as of today

No theres oil on the numberplate but i had a bad seal on the front pipe were oil was spitting of inbetween the exhaust and engine

I havent really ridden bike to have to keep checking coolant lol iv only topped it up after iv had carb off with the coolant pipes and iv tried the lh crank case seal wen i got the bike cos it already had the idle issue but the rpm didnt change it just stayed the same and with the oil it was spitting out of the manifold onto the exhaust im goin to do seals anyway just to eliminate them im pretty handy with repairing bikes just no good at bike diagnosis lol

Lol oh joyous another job im goin to change oil crank seal as i seem to be getting the symptoms of that leaking with the excessive smoke out of exhaust and oil spitting out of exhaust manifold also seems to tie in with the running issue im having with whats been said above might aswell do water pump seal aswell then

And are there any tell tales with the oil e.g looking milky

Ok ill check that iv noticed that it looks asif its been spitting oil out of the exhaust maniflod and on to the numberplate at back you think this is crankcase seal issue then

I havent checked the security or condition of the expansion bottle that goes in the inlet manifold either so ill do that aswell

The bike idled high when i 1st start it but settled down to around 2kish when i bliped the revs just starts messing up when i ride it

Yeah the idle screw i was adjusting all the fittings are tight and well sealed iv used gasket gasket sealant on all the intake and reed valve side the inlet looks in good condition i cant see any cracks or holes in it anywere the bike is 1999 t reg and how do i check the crank seals iv read about spraying carb cleaner in to the engine casing were stator plate is is this the way to test it and whats ment ro happen also as i said before i have a rubber o ring and washer missing from the mixture screw and im not 100% sure if there is 1 on the idle screw

Yeah had 3 or 4 short runs without cutting out and i was opening it up full revs the only slight issue was a high idle at 3-4k it cut out when i put choke on but i assumed that was normal with engine being warm but wen bike was idling high i tried to adjust the idle screw and it didnt really change much it was either high idle or wen i adjusted screw out at small alterations it just dropped to almost cutting out and i had to flick choke back on for a second for it to keep running if you understand what i mean iv just ordered a new standard air filter aswell just to eliminate that as an issue

Bike was running ok on a short ride after i had done all the above things then bike started bogging out with choke on and with choke off now it wont start im going to check plug and check fuel flow tomorrow

Sorry just seen your reply ok ill get a new seal and washer for it cheers guys gives me summat start with again bloody bike

Whats the verdict on the screw seal dt502001 could that be adding to my problems

I took the spark tester off lastnight but ill refit tomorrow

Iv had a spark bulb on the plug and spark seems fine constant light no breaks in it even when warm but ill test fuel tomorrow and check spark aswell again

Bike was sparking last night though

And i think spark is ok going to double check tomorrow and fit a new plug aswell to eliminate that issue

Yeah no seal or washer on the mixture screw wasnt on when i dismantled carb like my diagram showed me i checked in the port and it wasnt in there the spring is on though

Ill try that iv had tap out and cleaned it though and it does it if fuels turned on or on reserve plus the bikes now not running again

Iv got a haynes manual and it shows on the mix screw a washer and rubber seal but mines doesnt have 1 on the mix or idle screw could this be an issue sorry if im bouncy balling again dt502001 lol

Hiya guys still got same running issue of riding then cutting out the jobs iv done are Air filter cleaned and oiled Carb fully dismantled all jets and ports cleaned choke cleaned Mixture screw port cleaned Idle screw port cleaned Fuel tank cleaned Fuel tap cleaned Inlet manifold cleaned and resealed Any ideas of what to try next thought it was sorted yesterday but its being gay again :'(
