Hi Everybody!
As I promised yesterday here: I'm uploading my home made automatic chain oilier system.
I have made this chain oilier because I thought the regular price on ebay is way far ridicules from the real actual price which should be. (~ £80)
I bought a used electronic Vauxhall Vectra fuel valve from pickapart Ltd Dartford for £1 and I paid the "let me in" price at this car breaker which is another £1.
Also they let me have the plastic and rubber hose on the valve which I used in this chain oilier system to connect everything together.
Fortunately I had an extra aquarium air valve at home which would cost about another £1 at Pet's at home.(UK)
So what you will need for this whole kit?
- Rubber hose which is oil resistant (carbraker has thousand miles on old cars)
- Some plastic pipe to connect the rubber house with the aquarium air valve
- Flat plastic bottle like the Nivea body wash or lotion. (Every household has some empty one every week)
Tools:
- Crimper to connect the cables for the valve
- Glue gun (costs about £6)
- Screwdriver to unscrew the front light to connect the electronic valve. (or whenever you want to connect it, under the seat? If you have switched 12+ from the ignition key)
So I made a schematic about the connection.
And I made quiet a few pictures about the electronic valve and the pipes.
When the ignition is on the oil starts dropping onto the chain. With the valve you can change the amount of the oil dropped.
You need to test this to be on the safe side.
If you put so much oil on the chain you will cause trouble for the road users like yourself. Don't over do it, dangerous, silly and also illegal!
I used regular car motor oil which don't matter at all if it is 10/40 or 10/50. Oil is oil and if it is on the chain and replaced with new one then don't matter the type of it. As I saw on mine one week amount of oil not even noticeable on the nivea bottle.
Check the pictures of the chain, the O ring looks pretty much dirt less after a horrible week riding in watery condition.

Next time I will upload pictures and schematics of my LED lights which fitted onto my mirrors.
I was asked several times of people in the city(London) about where I got them from? How much did it cost? etc...
