Gents, Any of you know what the paint code is for the red stripe on my 1989 FJ1200 ? As you know I have the white/grey + red stripe version. Got a bit of rubbing on the side panel to touch-up. Thanks in advance.

M1 Abrams ..... thank you very much

For a good part of yesterday I did this polishing & cleaning thing that some of you seem to despise ? The ol' bus really came up nice.

Lovely ride today around the Duchy with Dutch friends that come over on 2 Beemers 1200's 124 miles incl. all the beauty spots and Lands-End. Brilliant sunshine showing Kernow at its best.

And she's off to the shop for MOT next week. New rubber, sort front brake and some other stuff. Is a bike a she ..... I dunno ?

Yikes, one year on .......... what a difference a week makes. This time last week snow, ice, flooding, armageddon .... and some. Yup, did my first dancing steps of 2018 on the FJ today. A ton sure feels good after being locked up in metal boxes sitting in a queue for the last 5 months.

Yup, the muffler you have may not be exactly XT250 spec but the bolt holes you pointing at are for a heat shield. The muffler itself is only held in place with the lug on the frame under the seat.

Boys, Belated one for happy crimbo. Stay safe and in one piece for 2018

Tell me where it is for sale and how much. How much are you prepared to pay? I'll go and have a look and I'll report back later.

Hi Peeps, Been laying low for a bit because ....... yup the old man passed away end of August. Bummer big time and we'll have to learn to live with that but it's gonna take a while. 85 y/o and he's done it all and more (his words) and he has had a good innings. Sooooo, what's this got to do with Yammy's : bucket list thing. Always wanted to get onto the FJ one day and drive to Holland and back. Hearing that dad was going down hill was a good enough incentive with holiday traffic (still) clogging up the Channel Tunnel. (and her indoors relented) This was not a pleasure cruise. With drive to Holland I mean DRIVE to Holland. 4.5 hours from Truro to Folkestone only stopping for fuel and a stretch to soothe my hurting ass then an hour and a half up the road from Calais. Out on a Friday morning (arriving mid afternoon), stay the night, and back again on Saturday morning, equally ending up in Truro in the afternoon again. 913 miles round trip. Only thing I can say is that Mr. Yamaha has made some quality machines :-) No letters have dropped on the mat from HM constabulary so I think I'm in the clear !!

Here, here !!! Impeccable taste my man

Since it's pretty wet can't you leave a live 220V lead lying around the bike ...... 440V 3 phase would be better If nothing else it'll improve their hair style ..... lol

Down here I see the flipflop, T-shirt & shorts brigade is out again. Oh dear ...... waiting for the big cheese grater to strike

Can't find the topic but we were complaining about cold & damp only weeks ago it feels like. Now the sun's out in anger bombing/commuting down the A-30 to work is pure joy. F8ck, at 100/110 the Yammy sure goes through fuel like buggary

Yup, If I hadn't bought a new XJ-650 in '84 a mate of my dad's XS-650 would have been my first 'proper' bike.

Good intel here guys. My RHS stanchion has had the black ring of death around it for abt a year so may try this first as well. If this does work and postpone the dreaded front end dismantling how do you know the fork oil needs topping up ? Thanking thee
