Not discounting what you say Kev but hitting the cr*p out of the bottom of an oil pan ? Angle grind two good flat edges on opposite sides of the fubared nut and a big (close fitting) shifter will do the rest.

For a quick fix see if you can get your hands one one of those vacuum oil scavenging pumps. Warm up oil, tube down the fill hole, suck, suck, suck, for the last bit lean bike over a bit. May not get all the gremlins from the bottom of the pan but better than running with oil past its shelf life. Gives you options to think how to tackle the shot plug
  7. Hahahahaha .... that's 'kin funny........ they sure aint now

England are the fifth most valuable squad at the Euros according to the calculations of transfermarkt.co.uk. Roy Hodgson’s side would set you back £334.5m should you wish to have them all sign for your club. Raheem Sterling is the Three Lions’ most valuable player with an estimated market value of £37.5m. He’s followed by Wayne Rooney (£30m), Harry Kane (£22.5m) and John Stones (also £22.5m) Iceland: 31.2 Ahum disclaimer : I don't like the Clogs either ..... lol

Read somewhere Roy is good for £4.5 mil/year ........... the Icelandic coach is part time and a dentist. ...... as for the overpaid prima donna's ...... best not go there me thinks.
  11. Lovely looking bike and it helps if you know what you doing ...... and have the gear Nice project.
  12. Put brain in gear before you turn your right hand !! Look at least 4/6 cars ahead, not just at the numpty ahead of you. Did you really want to write that or are there a few words missing there ? ....... lol
  13. Welcome. Just had to google this MT10 gizmo. Hmmm can never comment on somebody's taste but that is ......... different, like it just ran away from a Transformers film set. Have fun!

G'day Mate, That looks suspiciously like a Yamaha XT-250 ..... or what's left of it. 4 stroke 1 cylinder 250 CC (Edit : must have missed Malleus post - I stand corrected ..... ah well close enough .... and pic replaced by correct one) Although the exhaust on European models is on the LHS but this could be a previous owner bastardisation.
  15. You poor man Heeby !!! Here's the sofa, have a lie down and tell us what's on yer mind ..... plenty of nutcases here already Get that ailment seen to and remedied as soon as possible.
  16. Get under there - or turn your bike upside down - and check if your center stand stop rubber (bump stop) is still there. i.e. if that bike was ever fitted with one. If you see a bracket in that area pointing downwards (frame or exhaust) with a round hole in the bottom - with nothing in obviously, there's your problem. And stop shouting ...... ?!?!?!

Reading your post and only seeing that first pic .................. I would have said you're missing quite a bit. Then I saw the others ..... nevermind ...... lol
  18. This 'clockwork' chappy on fleabay seems to have a lot of XT250 gear so looks like he's breaking/broken one. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/yamaha-xt250-front-engine-mount-/282030284709?hash=item41aa509fa5:g:PXkAAOSwh-1W3Gms A message to him may help. As for exhaust : tried original 10 years ago and nowhere to be found. Went with a very good stainless jobbie.

When I started out on my little SR250SE special this was a model line in 400, 650 & 1000V variety if I recall correctly. The top of the range 1000 could be had in the Midnight Special livery. I drooled over that bike but could not afford at the time. Or I'm making all this up? - it was 30 years ago afterall

Yup had to have a look at mine last night for the bumper details and saw it wasn't a WJ - although I had a WJ 4.7 V8 myself before this one. Nice rig mate
