Karcher Pressure Washers
I got 2. Had a 120 bar Kaercher then picked up a 140 bar one at a farm machinery auction for 14 quid. Brilliant for the patio and stuff. Would not put them near my bike. Nothing a soapy wash and a hose pipe cant cure. btw ever washed your car with a PW without soap. It dont work.

Name: Yamaha FJ1200 (1989) Date Added: 05 December 2013 - 08:33 PM Owner: DutchFJ1200 Short Description: Found this one in Brussels. Had an offer I couldn't refuse on the XT-250 and finally after 15 years or so I had opprtunity & finances to go for it. Bought unseen and untested from ebay and its proven to be a minter. This could have gone soooo wrong on many levels. View Vehicle

Help establishing bike value?
Thank you Sir. You just made my day

Help establishing bike value?
Tasky, Very subjective to value a FJ1200. To the uninitiated or those that do not like a bike like that valuations will be low. On the contrary a mint for the age and/or 'unfucked' bike will be worth 10 x as much to the proud owner.....or more. The guy (ex colleague) I hooked up with a couple of weeks ago and who has owned one for 12 years valued mine at 1600/1800. My purchase invoice will not help you because I paid silly money for mine + a bit of transport and that was still a silly price. As Lallasro said 'the market' decides but then you have to find equal bikes to yours (I don't think I ever saw a pic of yours 'pre buttfuck' :-) More than happy to share off the grid. edit: Can research some on the continent but that probably won't help for the UK market (steering is on the wrong side :-)

1981 XT250 - Does battery affect starting?
1980/1983 does not make any difference. Drove one 15 years with a battery as dry as a nuns ............ :-) Once running - kick starter - all lights would work. Never used the gay horn anyway in all that time.

FJ1200 - Bought 2 LED spots for on the side brackets - wiring in advice ?
Evening chaps, Bought 2 LED spots. Any howto's or advice how to wire these in. I could wire into neg somewhere and take pos from rear lights - separate switch ? Flame away :-)

Heated handlebar grips.
On my X-mas list as well. Lots of them on offer on the Bay but I'd shy away from 2nd hand/previously used. Aren't the grips glued to the handlebars ? Brand new in box would be the ones to go for. Are they one size fits all ?

FJ-1200
Thanks guys, well fun was had. Hooked up today with an ex colleague that has been driving one of these babies for the last 12 years. His has got 94K on the clock, mine half that. After the initial eye up he admitted its mint for its age, headed out to have some fun and swap bikes one or twice. He was pleasantly surprised because he said the bike was as tight as a drum with perfect clutch/gearbox/breaking etc. Hehehe ..... hit the A30 on the way to the Yam dealership to pick up some spares ......... gently went trough the gears ...... until I looked at the clock ....... flippin 'eck

XJ 1200 owners - need advice on busted headlight adjustement
Ehm, thanks for not calling me an idiot but as you rightly put it your MOT regulations are a joke seeing what utter wrecks are on the road. The amount of cash I have to fork out on my Jeeps (my other passion) every year is scary ...... and they are in top nick. For my problem however : I have found a solution to operate the original head light adjuster at the back of the lamp without having to dismantle the whole fairing. (no heath robinson antics, trust me)

XJ 1200 owners - need advice on busted headlight adjustement
Hi Guys, Me again :-) Can you bl**dy believe it !!! I have driven Yams for the last 30 years but none had adjustable head lamps - this one has and its duff - hence failed MOT. That's all, really. Chap was a bit apologetic for he thought it was a cracking bike. This mini UJ connecting head light to the adjuster knob has fallen apart. My hands are to big to fiddle around with it without taking the whole bl**dy fairing off. :-( Any pointers ? Thanks.
