Companies to avoid?
Correct. Am with bikesure through the club here and got a good deal last year. On renewal this was hoiked up by 50 quid. Quickly checked with Bennets that were cheaper than last years insurance. Quick call to Bikesure to ask them wtf they were thinking. Now cheaper than last years insurance. Happy days. (shop around and play them against each other - you can get a good deal)

well that was embarrassing
Go go go Tasky Anybody calling a FJ1200 an out dated slow dinosaur needs to be hung, drawn & quartered ..... then burned.....the ashes ground to a pulp .... then shot into outer space. Nuff said !!!
-
that gut wrenching moment...
Hmmmm there's something to be said for flat cloggie land ..... if you park yer bike it stays where it is. Not so in Cornwall Then again if you don't deploy the side stand fully

FJ1200 3CV changed front pads - now brakes like shit
Couldn't agree more and I always go sort of middle of the road for all parts i.e. cheap is nasty vs. clad in gold leaf. Stripped the whole lot and there are rough patches on the pads rather than a smooth surface all over - and they have the slot in the middle. It looks like the dics were going against the grain of the pad.....odd. Changed left to right and back to front and it feels a lot better already. New scintered pads will go in this evening anyway.

Death of a rider !
Not a day goes by that dipsh*ts in euroboxes don't have a go at terminating my existance. Either on roundabouts, turn offs or merging. And this at speeds of half or less than this poor dude is doing. There are these douchebags in their tin boxes that think they can out drag, out run & cut off an FJ 1200 when I'm literally bimbeling to work every morning at under the legal limit, just minding my own business and enjoying the ride. I'm on time so no rush. Bloody provocating d*ckheads. Last week I was "" this close to calling the cops to report one of these idiots that sat 2 ft. behind my licence plate @80 on a dual stretch, overtaking traffic, and when I'm just about to merge onto the single bit this twat undertakes me!!!!!! Sorry guys, driving standards over here are waaaay below par.

Riding in the rain
Yup, ride with all your senses switched on. Especially when the local bus has left a trail of diesel around the corner. You can smell the stuff and the moment you do reduce speed and lay off the brakes.

FJ1200 3CV changed front pads - now brakes like shit
Gents, If i didn't know any better I'd thought my dics are severely warped but they weren't before I changed pads. Juddering and just plain bad and worse at low speeds. My money is on poor quality pads from Wemoto Thoughts ? Thanks.

Scored a FJ1200 belly pan on tha bay
Here it is. Was looking a bit sorry for itself on receipt but a quick wash & polish sorted that. Its in one piece (just) which can't be said for mine. good buy at 30 squids ? It does look like the previous owner has been rock crawling with it The seller described it as follows : THIS IS A BELLY PAN FROM AN FJ1200. IT IS IN GOOD SOLID CONDITION, WITH JUST A BIT OF SCUFFING UNDERNEATH. ALL MOUNTING POINTS ARE SOLID AND INTACT. And my nearside aft - although the general appearance of mine is better than the spare all round.

Scored a FJ1200 belly pan on tha bay
Guys, It was just in a spare 5 minutes at work that I looked on the bay and searched FJ1200 spares, just for kicks. Bang there it was! My nearside one has been damaged in a former life, front is ok but the rear flare has been smashed and broken and now riveted together but wont last long. Thought it was a steal and just to keep me bike in as good a condition as I can........which it deserves.
