Was looking for a general thread so not to have to start a new thread every single time. Found one Found this on my Jeep forum. Dunno how it got there but I like it.

Vmax (not sure how long id keep it tho as its not my style, i just want one ) .... do it....do it ......do it !!!!!!!!! ............... ya know ya want to
  9. Ok Roger that....................... are you implying that not only do I drive an archaic tank ...... but that I'm a phat bastard as well ?
  10. There we go again with the FJ bashing Foamy...... couldn't pick it up by myself when I dropped it! .... says more about yourself than the 'mighty FJ'
  11. Good intel DT! Both pistons were a biatch to compress And the chap in the shop asked me if I used my rear break much because my rear pads had completely gone in 1 year/5000 miles. He said they should last longer. Caliper rebuild +fluid change then this winter!
  12. Guys, Just changed the rear pads. Plastic cap off, split pins out, pins out, old pads out, push pistons in, new pads in ..... jobs a goodun. What are those thin shims for you have to put on the outside of the pads? Also anybody know a good howto to get the damn pistons back in the calipers? Got there but the must be an easier & quicker way then mine :-)

Well you don't know that. Your opposite number may have put in a top bid of 65 quid. At £1 increments £36 is the next one up. As drewpy said, if you really want it and cant watch 't puter all day go Goofbid : http://www.goofbid.com/

Further to this have any of you ever ordered a spare key for your Yam? and where? Reason being, in order to unlock my seat PO has cut 3/4 off the top of the key to get in behind the side pannier brackets. One of these days the wee hole he's drilled in the remainder for the key ring is gonna go 'pop' and opening the tank is a biatch. Thanks.

What he said. !! Google importing a bike into the UK, follow all the advice, open online account with HMRC, do NOVA --> all comes to nuffink anyway. Duty to be paid = 0 Happy days. (know its a faff but keeps the pencil pushers happy and its a doddle) FJ flew through (the 650 + 250 before that)

Happy days albeit by a ladygarden whisker. The gent was of the the opinion that the lead of my heated grip on the throttle was interfering on full right lock and hence could not issue the ticket because that was dangerous. After explaining that there is enough length on that lead under the tank or short of that taking the tank off and unplugging the damn thing and lead it somewhere else, looking at the clock at 16:55 that was not an option. Ticket isssued Driving home in the dark + driving rain and wind, not seeing a thing thru my screen was far from enjoyable.

The mot/bike shop put a new set on 2 months ago so all good + all split pins accounted for. The only unknown is the condition of rear swing arm bushings.

Never hurts to give it a generous treatment with Muckoff and a soapy wash so she's looking the dogs dangelies. Should be all good .... famous last words.
  20. I can't find the yellow fecker anymore. Here's a blue one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTOR-BIKE-750cc-YAMAHA-FZX-/151457070205?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item23438b7c7d
  21. I guess it will always be a matter of taste but I really like the look of this.
  22. Yup had a look at this Cloggie breakers website : 19Eur + 12.50Eur shipping...... robbing barstuards. Still only 25 quid or thereabouts posted. If your not getting anywhere let me know and I can sort thru my cloggie bank account and we'll sort something out.
  23. My pleasure and part of the service. Yes the FJ is a pretty heavy lump. Actually have it exactly a year to the day now and starting to 'throw' it around a bit, good fun.

Glad to hear she's ok and hope her 'damage' is not permanent. Agree with the above sentiments 'I was in the right' just doesn't cut it on your grave stone. Dangerous time out there this time of year boys & gals.
