    650 maxim engine kills when shifting into first gear

    mtzmike posted a topic in Yamaha Workshop
    My 650 maxim starts great, but when I shift into first gear, it kills the engine. it does this until the engine is warmed up a bit and the rpms high. I know the kickstand has a kill switch that kills the engine if the kick stand goes down with the bike in gear.....could it be connected or related to that or another type of kill switch? Any help is appreciated.
