  1. How broken is it? You can probably melt it back together with a soldering iron.
  2. From all the research I've done (I've never tried it) the K&N filter pods caused more problems than they're worth. Don't try and pump more HP out of this bike, just enjoy it for what it is... once you get it running right you'll be more than happy with the results, trust me. This bike has plenty of power! I'd just strip your carbs and clean them really good as suggested, you probably need new float needle valves, that's what shuts the fuel off when the float gets high enough, unless your floats are seriously messed up, but you won't know until you crack open the carbs... Strip the carbs, post pics if you need, and go from there! PS, if you're using carb cleaner, use it in a WELL VENTILATED space!
  3. Even though we still have snow here I managed to get out for a bit on Friday and Saturday, not sure if I'll go out today as it's -1c but I'm still debating it....
  4. If you did it in series you wouldn't get 12v to your LEDs, since it'd split the load between the LED and resistor.
  5. Just put the resistor across positive and negative of the signal wires, in parallel. So you have your light hooked up to the output, and the resistor hooked up to the output, positive to postives of light and resistor, negative to negatives of light and resistor. This just simulates that there is enough load on the circuit so the flasher doesn't fault and think there's a bulb out! Hopefully that explanation made sense... there's a ton of diagrams out there too if you need to just google it!
  6. Thanks buddy! Plastics I have, just waiting for my paint, it got shipped out on Friday. Either good or lucky.... but either way I'll take it. lol Just glad it was an "easy" fix! Getting the screws out of the old piece was a pain though...first the screw stripped because it was in so damn tight, then my easy-outs wouldn't work...either size.... so I got the dremel out and cut a slot in the screwhead...that was ALSO stripping it when trying to turn it with a flat head.... wtf! So I got my vice grips out as a last resort, tightened them really good around the head of the screw and gave it a turn... and heard a satisfying snap of it coming loose! HUGE! Saves time and money from running to the dealer and paying THEIR prices! They're worth their weight in gold!
  7. I like it but man you should have matched it with the fender colours and made it flow, would have looked sick! Still pretty sweet anyway.
  8. Those turned out to work pretty damn good I must say! Did you figure out the resistors yet?
  9. Problem fixed! Checked regulator, resistance on wires, etc... stator was giving low readings for resistance so I popped the cover off and cleaned everything real good, then I noticed the connectors on this piece: weren't very springy, and they need to be to make contact with the rotor! So...I swapped that piece with one from my parts engine which was in much better shape, cleaned it up, reinstalled everything, and am now reading a steady 14.5v when the bike is running, 12.5 when it's off. Perfect!
  10. and a good flowchart for diagnosing here! http://www.electrosport.com/technical-resources/library/diagnosis/pdf/fault-finding-diagram.pdf
  11. Found some good info here on my charging issues:
  12. I was! How did you know? Had a little mishap though...battery died while I was out booting around! Ended up bump starting it and getting it home but I got in a good 30 minutes of riding before that happened. No ice out there really, but it is windy!
  13. Nice, looks like they belong there!
  14. The sun was shining and some of the roads were dry, and it was +1 celsius! Had to test out the fresh top end... .listen to that baby purr!!! :D
  15. I had to go out for a little boot today, the bike runs so fucking flawless, it's incredible! It must have been in worse shape than I thought before the rebuild... took forever to start when it was cold and I had to choke it all the way, now, little choke, fires right up, then ease off the choke and it's purring like a lion! Went back and forth in my little construction survey here, contruction workers are all looking at me like I'm crazy... lol Video proof: lol
  16. I purchased a manual online for my bike with no issues.... don't remember the site. Welcome anyway!
  17. I like it! Is that just a vinyl decal? I think you should do something similar on your tank for sure!
  18. Woo paint shipped out today, should arrive next week and I can finally finish the fairings up!
  19. Those are gonna be some bright ass signals.

  21. Nice bike, welcome to the forums!
  22. haha nice! Ok so since the MTO is not starting M1 exit tests until end of May/beginning of June (wtf) I've gone ahead and registered for the MSF course on May 10th. I didn't really want to do it but in order to get my M2 license in time for my road trip I have planned in May I need to do this! So I went and rewrote my M1 today, and am now I'm an eligible rider once again! Too bad it just snowed. Again. Oh Canada.
