  1. Wow... he should just stop riding, or take some lessons, quickly.
  2. Must have been...because I took the factory sticker off there with a heat gun and my fingers....I didn't scuff it up like that.
  3. Needs a small strip under the seat all the way to the back just to hide the white under the seat and some of the electronics. Either that...or, I guess I could paint the underside of the seat black.
  4. GSXR 1000 Rear Seat Cowl from a 2001 - I cut some notches for the front seat bracket and it slid right on. I'll have the new tail light mounted underneath it once it arrives for final fitting, but so far I think it looks awesome and flows with the front end of the bike much more than the square box end it had. 5. Ok I'll grab some tonight.... but in the meantime... I got my tail piece fitted! Pics to follow.... Ok well I might as well wait until I pick up that spare engine this week and check out the head after I crack it open, see what it looks like, then I'll use whichever one is better!
  6. Where did North America get it from?? Russia. Blame Russia! Not Canada..... lol
  7. So here's how clean I got the head...should I keep working at it, or would you consider this clean enough? I want to get in the exhaust more but I can't get my wire brush down there without hitting where the valve seat seals. 8. Yeah been talkin to Flip and he's been helpin me out via text - I need to get a proper measurement of the bore and cylinders and then order my rings according to that. Thanks for the help though!
  9. Hi Goobsack, post a proper introduction in the New Members section!! With that much oil coming out of the exhaust it means either your rings are fucked, or your valve seals. That's a lot of oil.... I'd have to guess a ring is broken and it's just firing oil up into the combustion chamber...
  10. Been doing this if I refresh a page...but if I click a link on the site it works fine. Something's wrong with the CSS reference - that's my guess.
  11. Gap for the top ring from the #1 piston when put in the #1 cylinder was 0.6mm
  12. I haven't been in years....but I remember Hamilton not being the classiest of them....Brantford was even worse .... haha
  13. Ewwww Hamilton strip clubs?? No thanks... lol maybe Burlington or Niagara Falls though! Will stay tuned... that part of the motor won't be back together for another couple weeks, going to order the gaskets and rings I need tomorrow.
  14. I owe you guys that much from the money I've saved doing this myself with your help!
  15. Soooooooo I just got my bonus cheque from work in. I am PLEASANTLY surprised. Now....should I put some race cams and pistons in?? lol Or maybe some new gear... I do need a full suit.... decisions!
  16. ok! will report back with my findings.
  17. push it down into the cylinder, or up from the bottom?
  18. Flip wanted to see the markings on underside of the piston: Untitled by feliks.ca, on Flickr Untitled by feliks.ca, on Flickr
  19. Fixed header bolt hole, turned out great!  Local engine shop did the work for me.  Nice guy, only $75 for the hone job and bolt hole fix. Untitled by feliks.ca, on Flickr Untitled by feliks.ca, on Flickr Got the cylinders honed and ready for new rings, which I need to order next week: Untitled by feliks.ca, on Flickr Untitled by feliks.ca, on Flickr
  20. I can't believe how much effort went into that.... lmao Imagine if people used this power for good??
  21. Here's what the book says: Bore Size: 58.505 ~ 58.545 mm (2.3033 ~ 2.3049 in) Taper Limit: 0.05 mm (0.002 in) Out-of-round Limit - 0.01 mm (0.004 in) So what size rings should I go with?
