  1. Checked out paint at Napa and Canadian Tire today but nothing that was any good was anywhere near cheap, so I just ordered this stuff from eastwood.com Black Urethane Paint (no need for clear!) http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-boulevard-black-paint.html 2-part Epoxy Primer http://www.eastwood.com/gray-epoxy-primer-eastwood.html
  2. Hmmm anyone know if an FZR750 sprocket will fit on an FZ600 sprocket carrier? I think they should.....but if anyone knows for certain.... edit - will not fit after further research. Here IS a list of compatible sprockets: yx600 fj600
  3. Told you they were bright! Oh and this...oh and this...oh and this.... haha
  4. It's like having a workout buddy to keep you motivated, except we do it all for the bikes haha At some point you have to stop modding and start riding the thing! lol It's all coming together now though... kids are getting older and maybe you'll have more time!
  5. haha that's right. I've got a black truck, black cat, and now all black bike!
  6. Wow what a trip so far! I know you've been busy but geeze, just weren't happy eh? lol Change one thing...gotta do another...then another... I know how that goes.... starting to get there myself but I'm pretty happy with "close" to stock, but still gotta have your personal touches. There won't be another bike even CLOSE to yours on the road though, that's gotta be pretty cool! Well...if it ever gets on the road. :D
  7. Nah, just attached to my plate bracket....easily converted though.
  8. What makes you think HIDs produce more heat than halogens? I think it's the other way around....although I've never actually measured. Can't wait to get out for some rides this season!
  9. NP! I got the H4 bi-xenon 35w A/C kit (A/C is important, it'll double the life of the bulbs) VVME is the brand, I've had good luck with them in the past. As long as they're aimed down a bit from the factory halogens I don't think you'll blind too many people, just the folks who were already going to complain you're on a motorcycle anyway. The good part about this kit, is it came with a relay so you don't need to build an extra one into the circuit! Pretty much just plug and play, have to hook up a couple grounds and a positive (fused) feed from the battery.
  10. Yeah I'll definitely invest in some type of moisture control for the air - I've done a bit of airbrushing in the past and lots of paint jobs with spray cans with decent results so hopefully my first go at a paint gun goes smoothly. I'm not too worried about it...like we all know it's all in the prep work! I've got some final sanding to do before I apply some 2 part epoxy primer. I ordered an HID kit last week and it came today too... I know I know... you can't put HIDs in stock housings it blinds everyone blah blah blah, .....if you're gonna say that, I just don't care. I'll do what I want. I have them in my truck, never been pulled over for it... I'd rather inconvenience people for a few seconds than get run over by them because they just didn't notice me!
  11. Yeah I bought that DA sander last year in preparation for getting a compressor that I never got... had a paint gun too.... still no compressor. Finally pulled the trigger, glad I waited too because I got a nice 26 gallon now!
  12. Haha I enjoyed the read! I must have missed this on the other forum... that bike has been through a lot! So what's next... painting the engine, finishing body work, and installing signals?
  13. Bout time you posted this up here! Looks like lots of fun back in the day and will be even more when you finally get it back on the road after all this work you're putting into it!
  14. I'm not going down to bare plastic either...just going to spray some nice epoxy primer over this so it turns into a nice protective shell before I lay my gloss black and clear coat.
  15. Yeah the upright design sure saves room! Already got to work sanding my fairings down and feathering the body filler into the plastic.
  16. You can have gold! Once you go black..... lol
  17. Thanks man, the iPhone pictures don't do them justice, they look brand new now!
  18. Yeah it's well worth the cost. It would easily have taken two hours to strip the paint off the rims using chemicals and sandpaper, and then at least another hour to paint both of them, which usually always ends up chipping... can't beat $80 per rim for this kind of durable finish! Oh yeah!
  19. Well, they look a little better.
  20. Got me a sweet 26 gallon compressor today for the price of the 20 gallon because they only had one left on the showroom floor of the 20 gallon model! Woooo! Wife actually negotiated and picked it up for me so she got the deal... pretty sweet!
  21. Well these look MUCH better!
  22. One twin could start smoking later in life as a bad decision..... lol
  23. Haha oh yeah don't worry I've been staring at the manual for the past week while I've been waiting for parts! Went to start the truck and the battery was dead... turns out I have an issue with the stupid fuse box which causes a short and makes my running lights stay on! Gah... charging it up now so I can at least go pick the rims up. Wife was picking me up a compressor today (Got a 26 gallon for the price of a 20 gallon since they were sold out of the 20 gallon, woooo) but she can't fit it in her little Honda Civic so I have to go pick it up in the Ram....but it won't start....damnit. lol FIrst world problems...
  24. Powder coater just texted me.... rims are ready! Now to slip out for an hour to pick em up while hopefully my boss doesn't notice....
  25. lol she's flippin the double bird! That's an odd spot for a speedo, what made you decide to put it there?
