Would like to know if the overflow pipe on the right hand side of the carburettor is meant to be attached to anything. Currently has no pipe on it at present and what its for. Many thanks

Ive recently bought a sr 125 on a 1992 reg bike which needed some tlc. After shot blasting bike and respraying i started going about getting it mechanically sound as i wish to give to my daughter to learn on and want it right. Would like to know how to check timing how to set carb and valve clearances and do i need to purchase gaskets etc or split casings. Have ordered manual but would like to make a start on it.
