Thanks for the welcome folks,i am going to start collecting a few bits and give my dt a bit of a refresh over the winter.Will be having a good look through some of the resto threads on here over the next few days to get some ideas. thanks Richard.

Great link thanks,i am sure i still have a few spares for these in a store i have including a spare tank and side panels in white so if they are still good i may look into having them painted but they have been there for close to 20 years.Would it be ok to get the exhaust blasted before i paint it or is that a bit harsh.

Its been very hard over the years to refrain from putting on the fresco and boyseen reeds let alone the jackup kit.But i remember all to well the number of holed pistons i got with them mods.

She looks better in the pics but to be fair it is mainly the paint that lets her down swingarm,bars,exhaust , tank ect.What i am worried about is if i do them it will be out of keeping with the rest of the bike and make the rest look tatty if that makes sense.

Hi Guys,i bought my mx 14years ago with 1k miles on the clock,since then i have only used her for a quick trip down memory lane once in a blue moon and she now has 1700miles but is starting to look tired.I am getting tempted to start getting a few bits blasted and painted but feel i may ruin the bikes originality,she has never been apart and is 100% standard.What do you guys think. Ps any way to put pics on here??

Hi all,i came across your forum while doing a bit of research on my dt175mx so thought i would join up for a closer look.I have been into bikes since i was about 14 so over 30 years,i have had a large selection of bikes over the years from 50cc peds to a 1300cc sidecar but have always had a old mx kicking about.Anyway my present one i have had for 14years and she has 1700miles on the clock.She is looking a bit tired and i am in 2 minds weather to start to restore her or leave as is.
