Hi thanks for the reply it's a 2003 model so its definately injection would I be able to look at those myself or would I need to visit a mechanic or would there be any things I could try myself?

As far as im aware it's fuel injection?

Hi I started the bike there this evening and from cold it's fine untill the automatic choke stops then It stops again.

Hi I tried you suggestion but it's still cutting out, have you any other suggestions or would it take a while?

Hi everyone a bit of advice needed on my beloved R6. I was takin my r6 to the m.o.t centre last week had been riding about 5 miles when I lost power had to drop down the gears to keep the power on and everytime I opened the throttle she was very sluggish and then started backfiring I came to the bottom of the road and she just died on me I pushed the starter button and had to keep the revs up as she wouldn't run idle she just kept cutting out. She had been sitting over the winter with a little petrol in her but just when I left home I needed petrol and filled her up she ran perfectly for approx 5 miles then the problems started even now she starts up fine and runs idle for a minute or two then you can hear the sluggishness started and eventually dies. Any help would be appreciated as I miss goin for a run on her and now need an mot im not a mechanic so don't know too much about them.

can any of you guys help ive had to replace my footrest (riders) brake and i dont know how to remove the spring to get the new peg on it looks like theres a pin through it which looks like its rivited on one side does this pin pull out im afraid to do more damage and i need my bike for tomorrow Please can anyone help!!!!!!!!!! many thanks Kenny

can any guys from tell me if your M.O.T. disc as well as you tax disc has to be displayed if living in n.ireland and if so is there a certain area it has to be displayed? many thanks Kenny

hi guys i was wondering if theres any one out there who can advise me on how to clean my R6 chain, degreasing lubing etc as ive never done it before. and also would like to offer my sympathies to the family off the guy who was killed over the weekend in the 3 bike accident here in northern ireland my thoughts are with everyone involved. the biking world is such a close knitt community and im sure you ll all agree its a stark warning to all on the dangers on our roads with that in mind bike safe guys! oh and thanks for any advice on the chain. hi everyone just wanted you all to know i passed my test last Tuesday, im really chuffed as id never been on a bike before id 5x 2hr lessons so now ill get my r6 sorted for the road she needs taxed mot d and of course insured also restricted just wanted to know has anyone any helpful advice?

hi all ive just purchaesd a oxford carbon fuel cap cover for my r6 ive done exactly all the makers suggested before the application making sure it was dust dirt and grease free but have went out today to find it has nt stuck and keeps lifting any tips or advice would be welcome. thanks

Hi everyone I'm Kenny a 31 yr old male from Belfast N.Ireland and new to the biking scene! Myself and my partner seen this bike for sale at a local bike shop and i fell in love with it after driving past it over the period of a few days we decided to stop and enquire about it it turned out to be a Yamaha yzf r6 2003 4,750 miles on it and one owner for sale at a cost of £3,800. It was my dream to own something like this and after a few discussions we decided to contact the finance company we re buying a car through to see if i could get it. Unfortunately we were refused we could understand it the car was nearly paid out and i thought it was crazy, my heart sank! A few weeks passed and the bike was still for sale Then one day my partner picked me up from work and told me that our boxer dog Shelley had went nuts out in the back garden and trashed the place. I got home from work raging and the kids told me what the dog had done. I went to the back door not knowing what i was going to find and to my surprise it was my r6! my dream i could nt believe my eyes complete with a new helmet to match I'm still buzzing! My partner either loves me loads or is tryin to bump me off! Either way i love her so much for helping me fulfill my dream. I'm starting my lessons soon and hopefully my test, freedom on the open road will soon be mine! Sorry for rambling on but thats the story. I hope i get the chance to know you all, you seem like a great bunch and be able to give me advice when i need it. Ill keep you all updated on the lessons and test etc. any advice for starting off would be great thanks Kenny
