    FJ1200

hey guys! I just got an FJ1200, 1992, 46.000 miles, I ride it home 150 miles to home, is going very well but I have some problems with the clutch. I also plan to make her looking better (cleaning, paiting and if I can get the help of a friend, I will remove the engine to paint the frame). also I need to repair the fairings a bit.
  7. thank you slice, I don`t think the problem come from the plates, is coming from the slave cilinder, when I will decide to start working at the bike I will clean and seal the slave cylinder. BUT I will also take a look on the friction plates because sometime in gear 1 also is giving some small "bumps". if I will need plates, I will PM you
  8. ...and I end up buying this piece of shit: take me 5 miles to learn how to ride it :)) have problems with the clutch, after some time in gear 1 with the clutch pulled, is starting moving, also need some repair on faiting. mot untill feb 2016, 46.000 miles on the clock, 650 pounds. I will take a look tomorrow to see how bad is looking, in the night I can`t see to much :)) I really need some risers for handlebars because my back and neck is broken after 150 miles the way back to home. just now I really start apreciate my midnightstar :)))) but I will learn to love this crap piece of shit at the moment, i`m very happy
  9. yeap, I saw it but I can`t ride it home because foamy are keeping this in boxes :)). I also want if to be in one piece so I can se what I remove from where so I know where to put it back. I don`t work on motorcycles all my life :). i`m looking for one that have the mot so I can ride it home. last time when I ask a company that transport bikes, they ask me to pay 300 pounds :)) anyway, for me 100 pounds is still to much to pay for transport. I saw one around 700 pounds in my area, I will ask for more infos.

    FJR SAGA!

you make me curious guys, maybe is time to look for a cheap FJ or a FJR.
  13. from what I know, parallel import are the bikes that have the minimum request to be riden in UK . the only bikes are considered parallel imports are the UE bikes, I mean bikes builded for those countries. grey import are everything else, like japan, america, no mather if is harley or yamaha or any make. parallel bikes are just a bit different, things like oddometre (in KM/h not M/h). the grey ones (some) had some specs that don`t apply to UK laws (like different signal light color, or things like the paint that is not good for UK weather... or the stering wheel on the left side :D). the reason for a bigger price (say some but I don`t see any diference on my premium if I set my bike like import) is the pars that are a lot more expensive to get in case of accident, because the parts must be bring from the countries where the bikes are build.. a shit in my opinion because I don`t remember to see a yamaha factory in UK or EU so the parts come from the same place). another reason is because the parts are hard to find. i`m not sure about what cynic say about bikes not released in UK, because there are models released in UK but the bike are different for same model in japan or US. ex: my midnightstar, have the electic different from US models, the v-star. another colors, another ... I think is called muffing.. the wires going in another slot in connectors. but, like always, I can be wrong, this is a thing that I don`t know to much about it, this is why I come to ask here
  14. your drag is not a grey tasky. EU bikes are not grey imports, those bikes are parallel imports.
  15. take a look on custom section
  16. I think that have 2 tanks. the top tank is smallest one and the bigger under seat... but i`m not sure.. I read something on this forum about virago tanks but not sure if is about the 535 virago
  17. I hear that grey imports cost more to be insured but when I make a quote, the first 4 insurance companies give the same price like for a UK bike. there is some insurance companies that don`t mind if the bike are a grey import? I will appreciate any info you can give me guys about those bikes? and if anyone know if the road tax is diferent for import bikes?
  18. I guess you speak about bolt, but what exactly you looking for?
  19. you have a 650 tasky? i`m thinking to buy a bike as a project, eventually a winter bike. I have no idea what I want, just to not be expensive. nice find slice
  20. is that a fair price for a virago 1988 with under 20k miles guys? i`m tinking to buy a second bike.
  21. I wonder for what the hell they fit a horn on the bikes

    Rape Alarms

I wonder if you can still hear that alarm (140db) if the rapeboys that fallow you will push it in your a**. I find one in garage 1 year ago, I had no idea what it is lol, I was thinking is some baggage alarm. anyway, very poor quality was working just 4-5 times when I activate it. speaking about cheap security devices, few years ago, after they steal my push bike that I come from romania, I build in the front yard an alarm using a door wireless bell and an fridge lighter switcher, the rear wheel of the bike, sitting on the switcher. is good to have it at home if you leave the bike outside over the night and you are home. but now, because I grow up, (well, not me, the bike is a yamaha, not a dhs romanian bike) I brought an scorpio sr- i900 allarm. and i`m f happy with it.
  23. south africa? yeap, thats for sure foamy area of shoping
