Got all of the aerox back together went to go for a test ride and there's no power, does not want to move with me on it, but if I lift the back wheel it will spin, could this be the carb setup been wrong, or something else? It did have a 70 kit on before the piston and cylinder went, just fitted a standard 50cc one now tho, any ideas would be much appreciated, desperatly need it fixed

And incase I done it wrong is there a proper way of bleeding the oil pump?
  17. woodburnyq50 replied to woodburnyq50's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
In take the oil feed of the carb to see if itworks using the engine to power it? And use premix to lube engine while I do this test?
  18. woodburnyq50 replied to woodburnyq50's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
TooK the pump of the engine and put the end in a drill soit wud spin as if was attached to engine, undone the bleed screw and bled it, and with one pipe in a tub of oil, used the drill to spin pump, and nothing came out of other pipe, put finger over end and wasn't even any pressure at all against my finger

I'm not sure why the pump has stopped tbh bur I took it of and put the end in a drill, to spin it and nothing at all happend, so waiting on gettin the money for new one so premix it is until that time, and 40/1 would mean one litre of oil for every 40 of petrol?

if i was to fit a 70cc big bore kit to my yq50, would i need to upgrade anything else for it to work properly?
  22. well i managed to persuade local bike shop to take a look at the engine for me, free of charge, and found out exacly what my problem is.. turns out the oil pump had packed in and with no lubrication.. the piston and barrel is dead.. so need to source a new one. not buying from shop as 200 pound is to much. any links for what might fit from ebay? been looking at a 70cc big bore kit for 60 pounds
  23. well finaly got round to checking it and the spark plug is brand new and it is also bone dry.. through bad judgement i found out tht it does have a spark (was holding plug and didnt click on and tried starting it. and it also does not start with the fuel cap off. would this mak it a problem with the carburettor? incorrectly adjusted or something else.
  24. still got a spark, carb is defonately getin fuel as i checked, how would i check if the cylinder is gettin fuel? and how would i check for pinching on the piston? and what exacly is 'pinching'? sorry for the newbie questions, been mechanic for 4 year in military but never touched bikes or scooters, so not very confident quite yet

hiya guys, can anyone help me diagnose the fauly with my yamaha aerox yq50.. i was out one day riding it no problem then suddenyl it cut out. after about 10 minutes of sittin at the roadside like a lost spanner it started again. ran for a bit and then cut out, it done this about 5/6 time and now it just wont start. anybody have a idea of what it could be? carb is gettin fuel and checked and changed spark plug. could you point me in direction of what the most likely roblem could be and how to go about fixing it? any replies are much apreciated
