  1. I still have the receipt, but this is the first full refuel since 'empty' as it had quite a bit in the tank when I got it. Now I just need to run it down to warning again and then I can see how many miles I'm getting. Hopefully then I'll be able to work out how many miles of panicking I have to find a petrol station once the warning comes on I did read somewhere that these aren't the most economical of machines - as Mr Slice above mentioned with the revvy engine. The husband is enjoying being all smug with his old man's boring economical Honda CBF1000 Was just wondering what other people's experience was
  2. I'm new too, but hello and welcome
  3. Just wondering what mileage other XJ6 owners get out of their bikes on a full tank - be it city, motorway or mixed riding? I've not had my bike long and had the experience of the digital dash and its low fuel warning the other day. It confused the hell out of me at the time - but have since read the manual so now I get it. Although I've not quite worked out how many miles I have left once the fuel warning starts to flash. Can anyone tell me roughly what they get once the warning starts to flash? Or what's the most miles they'd travel once it comes on? When did modern motorbikes become so sophisticated? What happened to the days of 'counting' the miles and giving the tank a shake to guess how much fuel you had left? lol. Even my old Harley tractor had a fuel warning light
  4. Thanks for letting me know. I'll have a think about colour and printing and PM you when I've decided. BTW I won't be needing the XXL so that's saved me £1 already, lol. Might have to wait until payday as I have a 'big' birthday coming up later in the month and all spare cash is being diverted in that direction at the moment. Will let you know. Cheers
  5. Are t-shirts still available? I'd have one, but I'd prefer a ladies specific t-shirt. Pretty sure Vistaprint do them, might be limited to colour and maybe bit extra cost. I'd prefer grey, but would take either white or black Cheers Sadie.
  6. I grew up just a few miles from Mallory and remember sitting in the garden at home on Sundays listening to the drone coming from the circuit. Used to go watch BSB there for many years, love the place. I have signed and shared with my friends from Leicestershire
  7. Hi Paul. I'm new here too. Post some pics of your project - I'm sure we'd all like to see it
  8. Hi Aled, I'm new too. Nice bike
  9. The tractor is but a distant memory and I intend it to stay that way. It's nice to remember what riding a bike is really like now I have a 'proper' one again
  10. Would like to raise my bars an inch to improve my comfort on the bike a little. Anyone know what risers I need and where I can get some? Also, what's the deal with the cables - will they be long enough as they are or will I have to have them done too? Thanks in advance
  11. Hello folks. My name is Sadie, I'm originally from Leicestershire but I now live in Berkshire. Passed my bike test back in 1996 and have owned only a few bikes since, although have ridden quite a few that weren't mine. My last Yamaha was a Jap racing import FZR 400 Exup which I loved. Took a break from biking due to a number of reasons but got back into it in 2010 after meeting my now hubby, who is also a biker. He bought a Harley and, without really thinking about it, so did I. I actually enjoyed that for two and a half years, but we both decided it was time to get back into the 21st century and modern biking again Being rather little, I struggle with big machines as I just can't fit onto them, so I went for an XJ6N in matt black and I absolutely love it! It does everything I need it to do and it's a great bike to ride. Won't be buying a Harley ever again now I've got this That's me in a nutshell. Looking forward to having a look around the forum and seeing what's what Bye for now
