  1. When the engine is cold, the oil is thicker, so yes the rear wheel will turn. Like my SR, it is a wet clutch, which runs in the engine oil. As long as the bike doesn't stall with clutch pulled in and rear brake is operated, all is good!
  2. Sorry - where I say swing arm I mean tension bar!
  3. I'd try eBay for your switches. If the 250 is similar to my 125, remove front sprocket cover, loosen rear wheel including swing arm, if the replacement chain has an open link the wheel does not have to be removed. When you join the link, make sure the chain clip's closed end is facing direction of travel. A pair of pliers should be enough to fit the clip. Tighten the rear wheel back up, setting the tensioners so as to give correct slack (remember that the chain will tighten when you sit on the bike) and then tighten the swing arm. Refit front sprocket cover and lube the chain. Tools will probably be no more than a socket set, pliers and a screwdriver. At least that is all I use for mine.
  4. Found it (and for anyone else not fluent in acronyms popular amongst kids!)
  5. Sounds like a plan....... just need leave permission from SWMBO! I'm sure somewhere in between my work, wife's work and the boys I'll be allowed out to play!!
  6. I'm sure given the timescale involved, if we were to say we will meet up say the last weekend in August, near a large landmark (for those of us who have trouble finding places!) it will give people plenty of time to book holiday etc!
  7. It was only my second year but have to agree there numan. It was all very much low key compared to last year. Obviously the company was just as good though. How's about (not even sure I dare suggest this given the tshirt situation) we organise something for the same weekend maybe a different location? Maybe the peaks or similar?
  8. Lol! Still working on it, but have had no time for the last week. Got a new battery for her but now I can't recreate the problem to identify where the fault is. Every time I've been starting her, she has started first time! I was hoping to get something done this afternoon but it's lashing down so it's staying under cover!
  9. Given the title I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch this but curiosity got the better of me. Wtf Steve??? What were you searching for when you stumbled upon this?!
  10. Chip off the old block!! I like the Bear Grills hibernater breakfast a little further down the page. Reckon there's a couple of members who could give it makes good go!
  11. Had something similar happen to me a few weeks ago - bike fully loaded with camping gear, pulled into layby to put an extra jacket on (I was getting chilly!) and hadn't noticed there was a small hole in the concrete! Luckily only scratched the engine casing - camping gear stopped anything serious.
  12. All hobbies are good until they start costing money - the first started costing about 10 years ago just after the 20 week scan!!!
  13. I'll be going for my mod 1 and 2 as soon as finances allow! Longer term a bigger bike would be on the cards - nothing too big - divvy sort of size. My back wouldn't cope with anything too sporty on long journeys. Always fancied Triumphs - more so after following a couple at squires this year - one with a very nice rear end I'd have a 2T in a heart beat if I had the time and money to maintain it but any spare cash is always getting swallowed up the offspring!!
  14. Definitely glad to be back - I'm still on l plates so no pillion for me:( Taught the wife to drive about 8 years ago, couldn't afford 2nd car so got a twist and go as a 'foot in the door'. Took me about 6 yrs to kill it. Damn thing would not die - imagine a 49cc doing over 50 downhill on a daily basis! So now have a SR125 which can go 70 downhill with me lying on the tank
  15. Lol. Probably just enjoying his new bike when he's allowed!
