  1. Hi and welcome! See you in Hull at the weekend!!
  2. Lol! Yeah I've fitted a 15 tooth front sprocket to mine so no holding me back
  3. Not great sound but here's the difference - the new one sounds a lot 'bigger'! https://vimeo.com/104807490 https://vimeo.com/104807631 I'm thinking it's supposed to be like that? New spark plug, clean carb, new side panel, new centre stand, MOT and sell her on with a bit of luck
  4. Also just seen the condensation hole under the exhaust has been filled!
  5. Spark plug is the same as the other - although it has a weak spark. Just running it now after getting her going again. Didn't want to start at all to begin with. Now using my plug in its place! There is a plug light thing fitted so I know the ht has power. So I'm thinking new plug. Also just checked the cam chain tensioner which needed adjusting and sounds a bit better. I think it is just a noisy exhaust compared to mine!
  6. Ran for about 10 mins... then took it up a erm private road and back so nice and warm. Running on reserve tank though so didn't take it too far! I cleaned the plug, all electrical connections and made sure they were making good contact. The plug was black and dry so tried a teaspoon of fuel in the hole and she started up! The shop did say it was an intermittent fault and they had changed the cdi unit. Maybe one of the connections wasn't quite right? The exhaust almost sounds like it's blowing compared to my other one, but that could be 3 holes in the end?
  7. She lives!! https://vimeo.com/104802620
  8. Hi and welcome! I wouldn't buy new for a first bike. Only my opinion but think you'd be better off with a second hand bike to make mistakes on. I appreciate you'd have warranty for mechanical errors etc but this wouldn't normally cover operator error! As you say you are likely to drop her in the first few years either by your own fault or by the hands of some idiot on the road in a cage. Fixing a second hand bike is far cheaper than a brand new bike. Also bear in mind depreciation on a new bike if you are planning on selling a 3 year old bike later. My 20 year old SR cost me around £500 nearly 2 years ago and hasn't lost a lot of value since then and has not cost me hardly anything since buying her.
  9. I will be borrowing bits from the other SR to problem solve but doubt I'll get to the bottom of it in time for squires. I trust the one I'm using to get me there and back!
  10. Haha! Don't think it'll be ready for next week! Not even sure it'll have a battery by then
  11. And here she is: New lock for the tank needed, or just surround as the key actually works: Side panel and battery missing (battery may be in workshop, removed when they were trying to fix): Non standard chain guard: And centre stand half removed! Other than that looks quite tidy And bugger me - the choke actually stays out!!
  12. Went to Thorpe Park this week courtesy of Tesco Clubcard - didn't get the pic but the one of me accelerating from 0-80 in 1.8 secs on 'Stealth' was interesting to say the least. Not sure I'd be able to recreate it at Squires though!
  13. Hi Lee - did you get my pm?
  14. Yes they were - I meant to say sold not made! Thought Tomos stopped using pedal start when Puch went under and they stopped using Puch's blueprints? Could be wrong - I am only 38!
  15. You'd be better off using a WR rather than your dragstar! Seriously though is the Jeep 12 or 24v?
  16. I have pills which should counter grease and charcoal just not too much spice or flavour!
