I keep a right angled valve adapter in one of the (many) pockets of my bike jacket. Put it on, inflate tyres, put it back in pocket. Not having checked your tyre pressure in 11 months??? That's not good grouch

It was one of the first things I was taught when I was learning to ride. You go where you look. If you see something in the road, look at it then look away cos if you stare at it you will hit it.

I guess you've learned a valuable lesson on this thread. When you get your bike back on the road, find a quiet area and practice the clutchless gear changing. Just in case...
