Super High Ohm Reading From Stator 1977 XS750 - RESOLVED

Right OK then it is high. Much higher than it should be it seems. Does the bike run? If so you can check the voltage (carefully) on these wires. It will be AC at that point. The only other thing to do is whip the cover off and check the windings to see if they're burnt up

Super High Ohm Reading From Stator 1977 XS750 - RESOLVED

Do you have a manual? It will tell you what the resistances should be. I wouldn't call 6.4ohms a high reading though?

		helmet recomendations...

Value for money wise HJC are good, they also score well on the Sharp tests. I think mine is the IS17. Only 30 odd quid for replacement visors too, half the price of AGV ones last I checked.

		What’s comfier than a BMW R1200ST?

My experience of the FJ is not great for pillion. My Mrs is 5'8 and felt really cramped on mine. I'd say you need something with a flattish seat so your pillion isn't sticking up high in the wind (as blackie said)

		What’s comfier than a BMW R1200ST?

The streets only a 675/765 so no contest mate. I guess the speed triple would be closer but the tuono is another step above that. You're into mt10 or superduke r territory

Whenever I've paid import duty on stuff from 'merica I've always paid it to the courier, no one else.

		What’s comfier than a BMW R1200ST?

I'd suggest any of the usual adventure style bikes. Tiger 800, GS1200, Africa Twin etc. They tend to have more leg room for the pillion. But then again, I never ride for much longer than that when 2 up with my Mrs so I don't think it would bother me too much

Definitely look into balance shafts. I thought my dr650 was smooth for a single until I adjusted the balance shaft chain tension. Ran like a Swiss watch afterwards.

I'm going out for a little ride tomorrow after work, Matlock for fish and chips I think! Brought the DT out of winter hibernation the other day - started on the 3rd kick and ran a treat. Roll on summer!
