Wurth Dry Chain Lube!
Wurth by name, and worth the money! It's not the cheapest around by a long shot, but in dry conditions you won't find anything better  Watch it in the wet though, you'll find that the chain gets noisy very quickly and you have to re-apply it more often than most other lubes! :?

Divvy exhaust
Hi Steve, :hi to the Forum! The motad is a reasonable alternative, and if you give it a good service including the carbs you should even get a few more horses  . I had a Divvy 600, then a 900, and think that the biggest downside is that it spoils the look of the bike - it's well balanced with a can either side and they do look weird with only a right one. If you have any intention of changing the bike, stick to the 4/2 - it'll hold a better price  It's not difficult to get and fit a new collector box thus retaining the original cans, it just depends on their condition and your personal preference i guess.

On holiday
The cam chain adjuster is spring loaded and your mechanic would have to have made a right balls-up to over tighten it :? , but if you get it serviced at a reputable dealer get them to check it out for you before they balance the carbs.

On holiday
Welcome back Mark! Recalling a previous post, i'm surprised you took the trip on before you had the carbs balanced! Get them done with a service mate, you won't beleive the difference

Divvy's going for a Fazer!
Well i sure ain't regreting it! The Fazer's a real blast! I used it for training on Sunday which made light work after the Divvy, then we had some real fun down the twisties around north Worcestershire  One of our guys raves about his CBR600 - ...........well he used to, he's suddenly gone quiet now it's me waiting at the other end for him! 8) I'll take some pics at the weekend and post them next week.

Divvy's going for a Fazer!
Well, I took the plunge! The Divvy is being picked up tonight and I get the Fazer tomorrow night after work. Big downside with the timing is that i'll have to use either a Shitsuki GS or gay H*nd@ CB500 tomorrow for instructing  Thank god i'm on CBT's and only do 2 hours on the road with it! Can't wait till Sunday though, all-day road ride training on the Fazer, should be a wizz!

This is just Wrong!.....
Hell, if they wanna ride feet first that's up to them, the only time you'll catch me doin it is in my coffin! At least they had the sense to use a Yam though!

I'm on the lookout......
I've HEARD it, i KNOW it, but I never thought we'd actually get it from the horses mouth and in writing too!

Fazer spec?
:-k mmmm, Female, 25, 5'4", 8 stone, plays out at weekends, AND rides a Fazer! :loved  To be honest, if your "friend" thinks they're not very fast and no good for cornering, it just shows their own ignorance and lack of ability as a rider!

Fazer spec?
:hi to the forum Fazer6! I'm picking up a Fazer myself later this week and selling my Divvy 900, so I was looking for similar info yesterday! The standard bhp is 95 at factory settings but if you change the exhaust/engine set-up you can easily acheive 110  If there are no mods done at all then the bhp delivered at the wheel will reduce over the years as the engine wears. The top speed (without any mods) is 141mph, but I couldn't find any info on 0-60/0-100. I would guess its gonna be around 4-5 seconds? Tell your friend, if he thinks Fazers aren't "very good" and slates the performance, then if he ever considers getting another bike, he Definately needs to get some refresher training before he does somthing stupid!

Divvy's going for a Fazer!
Mark, if your hand is aching after such a short time there's two possibilities; either you're too rigid in the seat with your weight resting on your wrists instead of sitting with arms and shoulders relaxed, or the throttle is too tight, in which case take the assembly off the bar, lube the cable and throttle twist really well with oil, and make sure it is not overtightened when you put it back on the bars. As for the vibes, Yammy got it in one! I balanced my carbs just after getting the bike and although it didn't cure it completely, it definately reduced the vibe to a tolerable level! Unless i'm in traffic i usually ride at 5krpm anyhow, that keeps it smooth and makes instant engine braking or accelaration available all the time

Divvy's going for a Fazer!
I can't deny the Divvy 900 is a great bike, comfortable, plenty of torque, and a great riding position for teaching, but........well basically i'm bored with it now! On the downside, it's big, cumbersome, heavy and, as my girlfriend calls it, an old mans bike-chair!! :x A friend of mine owns a second-hand bike showroom and workshop, and has taken a '98 S reg Fazer 600 in p/x for another. He called me on Saturday and basically it's two owners from new, good all round condition, full service and mot,and datatagged. He's had his eyes open for somthing for me for a while and has offered it to me for £1,500. It's smaller, lighter, more responsive, more economical, and really fun in the bends! I'm stuck between the two! Does anyone have any input that might sway me one way or the other?

Just landed
:hi Maz! I just did the shims on my Divvy - sounds sweet again  , but I bought a Fazer 600 on Saturday to use at  playtime  , and it's rattling like a snake pit  Just as you say though, it still pulls loads a smiles per mile

how do you like to ride...
Yeah, although ALWAYS geared-up, even for the short trip to work on a hot sunny day, there are still different attitudes from cops in different areas. Welsh police in particular have a certain notoriety for stopping groups, or picking one or two out, but wearing hi-vis and white helmets gives greater credability in their eyes, and they then focus on the Power-Rangers  Serves them right

how do you like to ride...
I go to the office and back during the week, (15mins on the bike, 25 in the car!) Evenings I might go for a spin with my girlfriend, either pillion with me or on her 125 training - she's got her test 11th August. Weekends are tops I'm either teaching or out with some of our other instructors. It can be just one or two of us, but more often than not five or six. We pre-plan a route, and travel together in radio contact. We constantly appraise and improve each other's riding skills to IAM and ROSPA levels. This gives us a brill ride out and keeps our riding levels to the highest standards. I'm not working this weekend so we're out on Saturday practicing for her test, then Sunday six of us are off on a run to Newport, Wales. The Police used to stop at least one of us each time we ventured "abroad" but since we decided to all wear our company hi-vis jackets, white helmets etc they havn't bothered us at all!
