  1. I have an overwhelming urge to travel to Somerset right now... I am ashamed... Seriously though - Grave, I'm really glad you're shipping your bike over. Here's hoping time doesn't drag too much.

    Module 1

Ha ha, thanks Airhead! Hopefully next time we go for a ride I'll have a bike that's better able to keep up with your Bandit...! But failing that, I'm sure the lack of L plates will help to streamline my YBR...
  3. Same as Tommy here. I should be around that weekend, and if I can't camp, I'll do my best to pop over and say 'hello'.
  4. Hey there, welcome to the forum! Don't worry about not having done it sooner, the point is you're doing it now...! I love my little YBR, very good bikes. Enjoy yourself.

Thanks guys! Haven't booked Mod 2 yet, about to do that now. It'll be some time next week hopefully.

    Module 1

Hey guys, I'm on an absolute high at the moment - just come back from my Mod 1, and PASSED!! I can't even begin to tell you how nervous I was about this particular test. Out of the CBT, Theory and looming Mod 2, it was the Mod 1 that worried me the most. So, I can breathe a sigh of relief now, enjoy the rest of my day and focus on Mod 2!
  7. Hello Alex, welcome to the forum! Good luck with your Mod 1 & 2, and take it easy on that XVS.
  8. Good one! Let us know what you think of it once you've had a chance to test it out properly. :-)
  9. I'm sure you realise Glossop has its own weather system and was frickin' pissing it down, unlike Manchester! In fact it got worse the closer we got to home...! I took a few piccies too, so will share them later. Airhead has our group photos. And yes, agreed that we need to meet again soon.
  10. Yeah Airhead and I got soaked too... Wet clothes have turned my kitchen into a paddling pool, ha ha!
  11. Second that Tommy. Great to meet you and the others. Finally I know some other bikers!! Ha ha!
  12. I see Sacha got off lightly with those name meanings... I'm just going to go and cry in a corner... Lol!
  13. Hey there - welcome to the forum! Sounds like a fine bike upgrade to me! Glad you weren't hurt in the off.
  14. Hey guys, I can just get a ticket at the gate can't I? Count me in! I'll PM you guys my mobile. Just let me know what the plan is with convoying etc.
  15. Not ignoring you guys, just away with work at the mo. I'm back tonight, so I'll let you know my plans for the weekend!
  16. Hey, welcome to the forum!
  17. I can't answer this from experience, but a couple of things that may help you out: http://www.ram-mount.co.uk - I believe you get a RAM mount if you do happen to buy a motorbike sat nav (either TomTom or Garmin if I'm not mistaken). Take a look at their website, they create mounts for plenty of other things, so potentially could cater for a car sat nav. I read an article from Globe Busters a while back (http://www.globebusters.com) who recommend Garmin sat nav, It could be because it caters for off-road excursions a little better I don't know, but thought it worthwhile mentioning.
  18. Thanks guys! And Tommy - Blackhat is right, I'll be sticking around here. I've taken a look at some Kawasaki forums (including KOC... ) but this place feels more friendly. I'm sure if I encounter an issue, you guys will be happy to help me out...
  19. Thanks. It's looking like I'll be getting a Kawasaki ER-6f. Dare I say that on a Yamaha forum...! I've gone round garages and sat on a few bikes. I found Yamaha's equivalent (XJ6 Diversion) a bit too bulky for me. There's something about the ER-6 that felt comfortable. I was able to put my feet firmly on the ground (which is something I want while I gain confidence), and it didn't feel too heavy for me. Geometry-wise the foot pegs and handlebars felt good. It's quite an upright riding position which again is good for me. I'm going for the faired version over nekked as I'll be going on the motorway.
  20. Thanks Sacha! Yeah I loved it, I rode a Suzuki GS500 but will be going my lessons and test etc on a Kawasaki ER-6n. Immediately found it easier than my 125. Feels more planted on the road.
  21. Went out for a ride around the Pennines yesterday, great weather. And today, I've just come back from an assessment ride to see how many lessons I'll need for Mod 1 & 2. Really excited! Got to ride my first big bike.
  22. Have a great birthday Mike!
  23. Grouch, I applaud you for being so honest about that one. Also sorry to hear about your loss... Anyway, easily done though isn't it - and putting it into perspective, at least it wasn't another mechanical issue.
